Camping spots were right by the water. The lake is full and looks really nice

The sites were very large. The dock was well cared for and bathrooms clean. We really enjoyed the covered picnic slab at each site

We were one of only a few at the campground in early October. The weather was beautiful. The campsite and covered table were great! And the hot showers were good. I recommend staying here.

We enjoy the peacefulness of the surroundings. Our only complaint is the condition of the road leading to the campground. It is very much in need of some attention and repair. It's almost an "enter at your own risk". Too bad it's not taken better care of...

Nicely mowed and facilities clean and stocked. RV slots were wide and level. I will certainly return, so much better than larger lakes in the area

We go to Marion often and always try to find the perfect spot. This was close to that spot. Nice shade. Beautiful view of the water and easy access for fishing or kayaking. It was very quiet when we were there mid-week. Nice grass for the dogs. Short walk to the bathhouse. Reservation site didnt say that there is water hookup but there is. And electricity. We will pick this spot again!

It is one of the few spots with water access making it a prime location for people who want to fish during the week. The result is a lot of trash being left around the area. We had a lot of clean up to do.

We always look for a shady spot when it's hot, and we have a favorite one. Not all the spots have water, but we can fill up our fresh water tank close by. We enjoy the peace and quiet, watching and listening to the birds, and just relaxing. Hillsboro Cove is our favorite spot, but we like Cottonwood Point also. Harder to find a shady site since so many of the trees are dying due to the drought.

Was not anything like picture. No area for children. Swimming area was closed. Very disappointed

As we was packing up I noticed our electrical pole and cord smoking. We use a power surge protector and it fried it. So there went 300.00. We noticed several other campsites that had cones on them. Another camper had trouble with hers as well. Not real happy at this point.

Love this area. Always very clean, especially the rest rooms. (Except for the bugs)This time, however, my site was full of ants. Not much fun but not much anyone can do about that.

Its our first time camping on the Hillsboro side of Lake. Not the first time at Marion reservoir. It was very enjoyable & loved the site. There was a problem with the 50 amp & we said something to the camp host & he had a guy come the next day. Got the issue fixed right there & then. We was very impressed with the care of there campers. Great place to camp!!

Great location and not many campers. Only negatives was the lake is down 6 feet and the blue green algae started at the end of our trip.

I love camping here, it is so relaxing and quiet.

Site 24 was good, sort of isolated by trees from the rest of the campground except site 25. Water and electric working. Table, grill, and fire pit in good condition. Flat ground and driveway to work with. Only issue was the campground showers werent working for the season yet.

There seemed to be a lot more sites occupied than what was showing as reserved on recreation.gov. In addition, there was at least one site that was reserved, but nobody showed up that night.The recreation.gov online system is not always accurate. Sometimes it shows that all sites are reserved, but several go unused. These are sites that could have been used FCFS. Very inefficient.. Needs a lot of modification. Please pass this along to someone who can make those changes.

We really enjoyed camping in Hillsboro Cove in October during the week! We were right on the water and had lots of shade. There were bathrooms close by. We were about the only ones in the whole campground. It was great!

The ladies bathroom light doesnt not work, during the day its not an issue but at night the lights dont come on. Its been like this for months. It makes it difficult to take our daughter to the bathroom when its completely dark.

Spent Monday-Friday at Hillsboro Cove. Very quiet. My favorite time to camp there. Site was nice and restrooms were very clean. (Except for a few bugs)Will definitely be back.
@JoAnnF54C377DC · Camped on Sep 11, 2023 at Campsite #21
sites were good, but lack of volunteers has shown. Each canopy over the picnic tables needed a good power washing for wasp nests and spiders. We didn't have a problem with either of those. The bathrooms also needed the bugs and spiders washed out of them. No other complaints.

When we visited there were only four RVs in the park. Quiet, beautiful views and clean. As someone traveling through what more would you want.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
