Nice campground. Our water and electric site was near level and paved. Fire pit and charcoal grill had not been emptied. Cigarette butts and some litter around. Could be cleaner. Overall a good experience.

as always power went off Saturday twice, after a busy Saturday and Saturday night there was no toilet paper in the morning, beach was nice, camping sites nice and very few people drove crazy fast on the roads this year, love staying here.

I canceled this reservation and it said there would be a $30 cancelation fee which I agreed to. I have not been refunded as of today.

Nice place, nice & helpful staff. Our first night (Thursday), 2 different camp sites across from ours had "squatters" show up around 11:30 pm. They kept their headlights on (cast right at our campsite) while they loudly struggled to setup camp until 2am. Then they bolted 1st thing in the morning. I checked, there was no reservations or posted forms that those sites were every rented. It kinda ruined the first night. After that, pretty good overall. So, certain individuals made it a challenge at first, but the site itself was great.

Benn camping there for quite a few years and always a great experience and the grounds are beautiful. Only thing is I wish it was open year round.

Beautiful campground! Well maintained, clean, spacious sites, shady, beautiful large lake, quiet. Can't say enough good things. Another Army Corp of Engineers site, so a real value at $22/night

The week AFTER the Independence Day holiday and it was pleasantly quiet and serene at Bloomington East. While it was unfortunate that the recent much-needed rain had raised the lake level so much that the beach was closed, it did mean pleasant temperatures and sufficient greening that the overall experience was quite pleasant.

Nice campsite!

Bathrooms were dirty a good portion of the long weekend. Campground was pretty much full, so it does take a toll. At one point it appears kids had pulled all toilet paper and threw it all over the restroom. an additional cleaning would go a long way over busy weekends.

The campground was clean and well maintained. Quiet for the most part, although the 4th of July weekend, saw the park full of people enjoying the holiday with barbecues, games, and music. It was fun! The park is ideally located near Kansas City, Lawrence, and Topeka, making day trips enjoyable and easy.

We only stayed the one night so didnt utilize the lake or disc golf. A beautiful campground with nice trees and mowed lawn. We were at Cedar Ridge campsite 003, it was nicely shaded which we appreciated in 90+ degree weather.

We like camping at Bloomington East but continue to be disappointed in the camp staff. Comparing to reports from other COEs I think we are lacking a bit.
@DebbieH309235E · Camped on Jun 20, 2024 at Campsite #C39
We love staying at Cedar Ridge, but was very disappointed in the custodial cleaning. The bathroom/showers were not cleaned the entire seven days we were there. The only thing that was done was trash & toilet paper refilled.

Our family was in a trailer close to the bathrooms in Walnut area. Everything was in great order and clean. We did have one SNAFU. The water faucet in the middle of our group went out and started leaking. We reported it and started filling coolers with water and toting them away so we wouldn't have a big mud pit. The park maintenance responded quickly and shut the water off. They returned the next day and replaced the pump within 1/2 day. They left the area very clean. There are plenty of activities available. A playground is nearby, the swimming beach is not a far walk (0.5 miles from Walnut) and they have a walking trail. The only thing missing are more campsites with water. In Walnut Campground there are 5 or 6 sites with water, and they are always reserved. The Cedar Ridge campsite has water hookups in all of their sites. All in all it's a great place to camp and relax with friends.

We picked our site because of the proximity of the playground. The playground is very nice. When the beach is opened, it's wonderful.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
