The only down side to our family trip. It was my first time and the camp host must have a tad racist. We're mexican American from Arizona (56 yrs). The camp host were mean in the way they approached our three campsites.

Pros-Great campsite. Lake to paddle board or fish. Cons-Humans. The bathroom was smelly I assume due to holiday weekend. Smell it from campsite A006 and with wind change our friends in the other sites got the smell. No toilet paper in one bathroom. One family washing blankets, clothes and a stuffed animal at the drinking water spout. It says no washing there too. To me thats gross. Havasupai had C-Diff breakout recently. People dont learn. Though I did see the host come talk to them but they didnt stop them. I always bring water for the teens to wash and drink so glad dont use the community spout. Besides that. It was awesome. Its humans who are gross. Saw lots of dispersed camping prior to campsite. So thats also an option next time. The hosts here have their hands full with cleaning up. So kudos to them.

You would have been a 5 star bun the mosquitoes were eating us alive otherwise it was absolutely gorgeous what a place clean and beautiful I was unable to catch any fish though because they didn't stop the lake and so that was kind of a bummer All in all it was a great experience Thank you so much I will return

Nice quiet campground. We loved the spaces were well spaced out. It does feel like youre getting nickel & dimed the way you are charged $10 additional for an extra vehicle to park on an already plenty big parking space at the camp spot. $8 dollars for 5 little pieces of wood? Oh, and you can only pay in cash because there is no internet out here but we had no problem using our phones! Spent some time picking up fishing line and trash from around the lake, there was lots! Overall nice quiet weekend aside from that.

The area was hot as we were in a heat wave during the Fourth of July. You cannot swim or wade in the lake. Area was beautiful and campground was clean.

Dogtown is always very well kept with clean bathrooms and friendly camp hosts. The sites are large and there is nice space between neighbors.

Nice campground with the best pit toilets I've seen. The lake is close by, and people were catching fish. There are trash receptacles at each restroom, but they are locked, and a sign says to go to the dumpster that is a least a quarter mile away. The dumpsters should be at each restroom location. There were deer in the area that would come through the campground periodically. The last couple of miles the dirt road is a bit bumpy but drivable. Lots of trees with some dead that should be removed. Most campsites are spacious and separated for the most part. We'll go back there again for sure.

This is the first time I've had a bad experience at this campground. I was in site 15 and it absolutely reeked from bathrooms being next to it. I'm not sure what the issue was. Maybe the vaults were full? I couldn't sleep with the windows on my trailer open on one side or I would get nauseous from the smell. It's natural there are going to be times where you catch a whiff of it, but it was constant. I couldn't enjoy sitting outside. The first couple days it was warm and then it was supposed to cool off. I figured maybe when it cooled off it wouldn't be as bad. It still was.

Everything was great. Clean enough, firewood available. Campground host was by several times and was quite friendly. The trail around the lake was easy, and the kids said the fishing was great!My only issue was mosquitoes. Hoards everywhere. The kids in our group got bit alot. I got bit so much more. It outdoors. I expected some bugs this is the worst I've ever experience. Benadryl every 4 hours. Anti-itch, caladryl. 6 days later and I'm still miserable.

The group site here is Awesome! This is the third time we have visited Dogtown Lake group site and just love it. The lake is beautiful and hosts are extremely friendly. We always seem to hit the rainy season, but ramada is great and so are the two fire places. Not totally easy to get to which probably lends itself to never being over crowded.

Been coming here for the past 10 years as a family, the camp host are extremely gracious and friendly, the rest rooms are always clean. The camp grounds are kept up and free of trash. And that's why we come back every year.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
