The campground was excessively crowded. There were so many kids roaming around unattended.The campsites were so close together, there was no privacyCell service is nonexistent.

Most campsites are quite spacious, and many have paved campsite pads.

Beautiful campground. Nicely mowed green grass. Natural grasses left in place. Lots of trees. Spacious sites. Level concrete pads with fire pits and picnic tables. Several different loops to choose from. C85 gave us lake views and spectacular sunsets. Electric only.

Very nice cement slabs to park our 5th wheel on. Beautiful and well kept park. Close to the High Trussle Bridge and Boone to ride the rails our the dinner train. Camp hosts Mike and Renee were awesome very helpful.We will definitely be back!

Nice spot. But it was hot no shade.

I was anticipating water access or at least in walking distance of a view, but this is really camping in a nicely kempt prairie. The spaces arent very far apart, but not sardined either. For peace and quiet, I was too near the playground. I would not return for recreational purposes, but certainly camp if I find myself in the area again.

Something has to be done to limit if not totally not allow political flags and signs at individual campsites. For instance site number C96 had three huge political flags. This campground is actually a 5 star location. Clean, staff friendly, large lake.

We have visited this camp ground in August for the last 10 years...always maintained well, the showers and restrooms are clean and functioning and we like the 6 new dump stations!

The park is very clean and beautiful. I really like the multiple lanes at the dump station. No waiting

The campsite was clean and welcoming, and our camping neighbors honored quiet honors, which was important to us, as we were traveling through.

A couple yrs ago we showed up and the pad was covered in childrens chalk. We had to wait a bit but the park ranger came around with a gator with a water tank and and power washed it off. We have 2 Shibas so we would have had chalk all over. Was very appreciative. This time we showed up and there were several piles of granulated white powder thrown across the deck. Still have Shibas. This was not chalk. Called the host who called the ranger who showed up much later and said it was laundry detergent and swept part of it off. There was no way to look at it to say it was laundry detergent. I grew up with a pool and it easily been been chlorine that I had seen spilled on the ground. Regardless I dont want an unknown powder getting on my feet and my dogs feet. Then have my dogs like their feet lick their feet and get sick. If we have to be out by noon why cant they check out the spots to see if they are ready for the next. I am not asking for a mint on my pillow but how about cleaning up an unknown substance that may or may not kill our pets. Luckily about 1/2 later Mother Nature came through with a severe thunderstorm and power washed the concrete til nothing left. BTW there was no suds for it being laundry detergent. This isnt the same place I came too 2 yrs ago. They gave the option of moving spots but in 2 days we had to move spots anyway because this one was reserved and we had already set up thinking they could fix the mess. We knew it was going to rain. I wasnt going to break down in the rain and move to another spot and the move yet to another spot 2 days later. Yet we did move 2 days later as we were suppose to between storms and the original spot never had anyone camping there after we moved and still was empty when we left the park. Did the host know we were moving around for no reason. That is the most empty I have seen that park in 5 yrs except for last year of course. But yet we were moving around spots?

Enjoyed our 4 days at Saylorville Lake. The shower house was not as clean as usual. We have camped here many times and never been disappointed in the cleanliness until this time

Prairie Flower is our go toplace for camping. Sites are spread out. Views of the lake. Clean bath houses.
@MikeK6232833 · Camped on Jul 20, 2024 at Campsite #H182
Just needed a place to pop up the camper and sleep. Barely 12 hours onsite. Only complaint was noise. Barking dogs and highway traffic was relentless. Clean restrooms, working electrical box, and mostly level site
@JeffG6611372 · Camped on Jul 17, 2024 at Campsite #C111
We love Prairie Flower! This site has a partial view of the lake, and is mostly sunning. Your picnic side is on the lake side, and it gets afternoon sun. Not much shade to help, but the sunset can be beautiful!

love camping at Prairie Flower

Love the concrete pads and view of the lake. Conveniently located to explore the other public areas as well as easy access to Ankeny & Polk City. Very unfortunate to have lost a lot of shade trees in the last 2 years due to the Emerald Ash Bore but such is the case in many campgrounds.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
