Unbelievable 2-day trip. We lucked out on the weather window for a successful end of October summit. Trail was pristine. Great time all around!

Spot 33 was paved large enough to fit our 19ft campervan and small vehicle in front. Site had a slight downhill slope toward the creek but large 6 levelers were enough to level the van. Overall site was very clean and close to the restrooms.

The campground space was huge. Perfect for a group. Just a bit rocky, but its fine.

I have a great experience here with my friends. The campsite itself it pretty small, but we made it work. There was enough distance between sites; Iwe could hardly ever hear our neighbors. The host were friendly and helpful :)

I LOVE Whitney Portal. If I'm hiking Whitney I like being close to the trailhead. It's managed extremely well. The CG host is great! Friendly, helpful....

Great campground - puts you right on the hiking trail to Whitney. Good layout with a beautiful stream running through. Read the campground reviews before picking one as not all of them are level. Host is super nice.

Stayed in site 24. Great site with lots of room. Parking area is a couple feet above the main site so you need to walk down on a few rocks to get to it. Backing into the spot is not difficult, but slightly more challenging because of the narrowish road. Site could fit two large tents, maybe three 2-3 person tents. Site was clean upon arrival. Close to the bathrooms so you may get that "vault toilet" smell now and then. Not horrible, but it's there. If you're sensitive to it, another site would be a better choice.The site backs up to the tent pad of site 18 so you could reserve both sites for a large group to be together. Note: Site 18's tent pad has a large sharp rock right in the middle of it.

Whitney portal is the most beautiful campsite. Clean quiet, peaceful and the host Bob is the most helpful and friendly

GREAT CAMPGROUND. Right by a creek, sounds of water flowing and birds chirping. WELL managed with toilets and clean water

It was a nice spot close to the little creek, falling asleep with the sound of the water was so soothing. There was two spots for big tents (10-12 people) and 3 sports for small tents (4-6 people)There are 3 tables for eating and two big bear boxes (30 cubic feet)Also a good spots to put a portable shower and toilet. The water faucet near the camp dont work, so you will have to do a 50 feet walk to get water or you can use the creek water.

Great camp ground, highly recommend staying at Whitney portal. Site 15 is an amazing site, if you can snag it! Site 14 is nice too.

Our campsite #4 was the perfect campsite.. enough room for 4 tents, secluded yet not too far from the camp host. We are next to a creek that was giving us the amazing background sound. We were able to carjcb fish for dinner.

Amazing! Great first ever camping trip for our young family (first for partner and first for 3.5 year old). Beautiful scenery; loved the sound of the river at night. Little light pollution, made for some of the best star gazing around. Nicely kept sites, would 110% recommend site 9.

Beautiful location. Enough bathrooms and clean water. Having the Whitney Portal store on site was a nice convenience. Note that the campsite is right next to a rushing stream and some small waterfalls, which may disturb light sleepers.

Beautiful campsite with restrooms, water taps, and food lockers.

Great campsites with plenty of space in between each other. Well taken care of location, friendly campground staff, clean bathrooms and very close to Mt Whitney trailhead. There is a campsite store that will provide basic camp items and limited food choices if you should forget something.

Just to remind everyone, bears are very active here. I had paw prints in my camp. But to the point, a bear snagged a neighbor camper's backpack off the table while the campers were present and prepping at 12:30am for their Mt Whitney hike. Please protect your stuff, especially in the nighttime hours. Otherwise, a great campground, one of the best!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
