Coles Creek Rec Area in Clinton county is located 1 hr 6 min east of Belleville, IL with an elevation of 464 feet. There are a total of 146 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to mid October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 39 and 115 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 25 sites have electric and water hookups. 120 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $18.00 to $250.00.

The park as a whole was immaculate, and staff was very accommodating. Sites are paved and spacious. Ours was long enough to set our 26' trailer, park our Ford F-150, and room to spare. We had a back in site with water view, electric only but the campground does have some full hookup sites

Nice campground. Something needs to be done about the dump station. You come in through the gate and then have to go back out to get water. There is one line to dump and get water. Political signs should not be allowed in the campgrounds.

Beautiful site. Level, paved, shaded and lakefront. The new shower house was great. Grassed area were a little tall, but no weeds. Favorite site we've stayed at thus far.

We love Coles Creek campground and stay 4 or 5 times a year. Les and Sherrie are great camp hosts. The shaded spots are great on hot days. The views of the lake are great as well. Only complaint is too many dogs running around off leash and this trip, 2 large dogs were off leash and came onto my camp site. Wish the rangers would better enforce leash rules.

Our kids and families and us stayed 2 days/2 nights. The grounds, bathhouse, bathrooms were clean and well stocked. After we arrived we wanted to change our 2 campsites that we had reserved. There was no problem in getting that accomplished. Fishing was good. The small beach at Loop 5 was great. That day we had it all to ourselves. It was clean and bath/shower house was clean. The only negative thing was that since I used my senior pass when paying for one site and my husband's senior pass for the other site (2 sites reserved for a family camping experience) we were told that my husband and I had to sleep separate one on one site and one on the other in order to keep the senior pass rate or pay the difference to stay together. That is a silly rule that needs to be changed.

Loved our spot!!! Sitting next to the water was the best way to start and end the day. It was great to have the beach really close. Being at a FHU spot was amazing for pack-up day. We used the fantastic shower house one evening. Very clean! Super convenient to get all the showering done at once. [Only suggestion for the showerhouse, please add handles to the inside which would aid in holding the door while turning the deadlock.] We will be back!!!!

Our stay was very good. Camped with friends. Park was clean and well maintained. Didnt use the restrooms or showers. Had a storm come through and it moved our trailer. Exciting!

Something has to be done about all these dogs not on leashes. Had a Doberman run after my 6 year old granddaughter when she was going from site 24 to site 30. It was from site 23. Dog was as tall as my granddaughter, owner said "he won't bite". He wouldn't have to, he can just plow her down. Not a fan of new trash dumpster locations. Rocky raccoon is probably loving it.

I've stayed for three 2wk stays since May. I would stay here all summer if I could. The Attendants here are so nice and welcoming! Cleanest facilities on the lake. A beach in walking distance makes it really nice.
