Long parking spurs and good separation between sites. Great off road riding just across the street. Great fishing, rafting, and swimming out the back of many sites.

Might be a great place for RV camping but the logging trucks at 3am are a real issue for those who are in tents. The sound of the compression breaks is like having a neighbor playing a full mariachi band next to you while camping. Pretty rough. Besides that, the place is nice. I reserved it for a group and ended up leaving early because I couldn't sleep. It was embarrassing.

This place was a nightmare! Logging trucks at 3am, every night until morning and the sound was on par with a train or a marching band perhaps. I am a light sleeper and I was in a tent so if you have an RV and maybe a little hard of hearing anyhow, you might not have the same experience. BTW, I am a sawyer and understand the importance of logging and the value of it but I have been up and down the state camping and only once did I have to deal with trucks before 6 am, that was here. I do not begrudge the industry one bit but 3am is insane! If you come here bring some good sleeping ear plugs. I gave up half way through my stay thanks to sleep deprivation. I camped in a rainstorm where it was only sunny one day and that was a delight in comparison.

Great place to camp. We were on the river side and it was a very easy walk down to the river. We played fetch in the river with our dog who never wanted to stop. The park is very well taken care of by the hosts and very clean including the outhouses. We camped late in the season mid September and the campground was not full, but it was very quiet at night....camping spots for the trailer are large and grounds around the spots are well maintained. Firewood is available onsite. We will make this an annual trip if not more/

We had a 3 night stay in late September with beautiful weather and good fishing. This was the cleanest and best maintained BLM campground we have stayed in and includes the vault toilets. Campground hosts were outstanding !!!

Camp host was wonderful. Camp was very clean, well kept, and a great place to stay. Logging trucks are noisy is the only concern.

This is a beautiful campground located right on the St. Joe river. The sites are spacious and well spaced-out. The campground hosts were very friendly and did a great job keeping the bathrooms clean and emptying the trash cans that were conveniently located throughout the grounds. The nearby highway is a little noisy at night, with logging trucks passing by. We ventured up to the town of Avery, perhaps 15 miles up the road, where the fly shop had excellent sandwiches and ice cream for lunch, in addition to good fishing advice. We are already planning a return trip!

Great place to visit. Campsites are easily accessible, clean and right on the St Joe river. Great fishing experience!

The campsite was excellent and well maintained and the rest rooms were spotless. The grassy areas at each site were an added bonus and much of the brush from the past has been cleared. The major drawback was the traffic noise from the non-stop logging trucks driving by between 2am and 6am and the extremely loud compression breaks as they rounded the corner. Oh well, I guess progress is hard to eliminate. I do believe it was an extremely heavy logging lease season.

Have been going here for years and still it is one of our favorite places to go. Enjoy being able to reserve a favorite site. Beautiful campground on the banks of the St. Joe with lovely roomy sites.

I would like to say the campground is beautiful, same with the location and its very well kept. With that being its not a place for families with older kids or larger dogs. The whole campground was dark and completely quiet before 8pm. The river if full of people fly fishing so the dogs and the kids couldnt play or float in the river. The camp host was extremely rude to my husband and berated him about our dog not being on a leash walking down to the river. He didnt even give my husband a chance to go to the truck to truck to the leash just came back and told my husband he was taking too long and how we are disrespecting the camp rules. We ended up leaving right after. We will definitely not camp there again.

Wonderful campground on an amazing river. Camp hosts/staff do a great job keeping it a great place to camp!
@JacqueCCD628A0 · Camped on Sep 2, 2024 at Campsite #26
We loved this place. Even though it's on the highway and can get a bit noisy, if you have a spot on the river you don't notice it much. We had everything we love in a site: shade, privacy, and water access. We will be back!
@DawnG9025A0EEE · Camped on Aug 25, 2024 at Campsite #11
The pit toilet was sub par and pretty dirty. WiFi signal was too weak to connect anywhere in the campground. The whole side of our van was also keyed during our first night. We chose to move on to better accomodations and eat the cost of our second night.

The river is beautiful and most of the campsites on the side next to the river have a path to the water. Most campsites have a nice grassy area and the back-in sites have a nice buffer of trees between sites that provide privacy and some noise reduction. If you have a pull-through site or are next to the highway, you won't have much privacy. There is considerable noise from the highway - the logging trucks start coming down the hill around 3am and use their jacob brakes right next to the campground. Bring earplugs!The upgrades done in 2023 are not obvious - new electrical panels are the only clue. There is still just one Wifi hotspot across from the camp host. It was nice to have our own water faucet, but it could not be hooked up to our camper because the threads were filed off of the faucet.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
