Site B35 is an ADA campsite on a rise overlooking Brownlee Reservoir. The site is very large, wide and deep, and like all Woodhead RV campsites, includes water and electricity hookups. The B Loop tends to be quieter than some of the other loops and has many campsites that overlook the water. This is where we look first for openings. Idaho Power operates several campgrounds in Hells Canyon, but this is our favorite. Phone service is not available, but for $5 a day you can obtain Internet service from the local telephone company.

Site B31 is a great site among many at this outstanding campground along the Snake River below Brownlee Dam on the border between Idaho and Oregon. Idaho Power, which produces 70 percent of its hydroelectric power from the three dams in Hells Canyon, operates the campground. This site overlooks the reservoir. It you jump the curb backing into the site, you'll land in the drink. The B loop is very quiet, even on this Memorial Day weekend. Each site comes with electrical and water hookups and there is a dump station near the campground entrance. The scenery is magnificent and from our campsite we can see Russia. Whoops, I meant to say Oregon. Campsite are relatively close together, but with trees providing a buffer, it doesn't feel like our neighbors are right on top of us. Just like the Idaho State Parks Department, Idaho Power allows campsite reservations nine months in advance. We made reservations for Memorial Day weekend when we were here in October.

Woodhead Campground is the largest and nicest of the four Hells Canyon campgrounds operated by Idaho Power, the states largest electric utility and operator of the Hells Canyon dams. Woodhead has four loops for RVs and campers and a dedicated tent campsite area on the south end of the campground. Each site has electric and wster hookups and except for the C Loop, there's plenty of room between campsites. We rode our ebikes on paved roads throughout the campground and on paved bike and pedestrian trails. The campground has a number of picnic tables on grassy areas overlooking Brownlee Reservoir, so you could even pack a lunch and visit another part of the campground. Each loop has restrooms with free hot showers and they're kept clean. The camp hosts were friendly.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado
