One of my favorite campgrounds. Kimo, the host, is excellent. He takes pride in the campground, he is very visible throughout the day and will take the time to answer any questions.The campground is at a high elevation, just under 10,000 feet, which I prefer with a great hike available right from the campground.

Had a wonderful time at Trumbull Lake Campground! It is a beautiful spot with beautiful scenery and views of the mountains. And the campsites and vault toilets are immaculately maintained by camp host Kimo!

Wonderful campground. There is a great hike up to lakes but you need to be away that it's hiking at 10K MSL. The nice thing about that is you can escape some heat. The site I was on did not have a lake view but it was near a restroom. The host was wonderful and the restrooms were clean. Drove to Mono for a spectacular sunrise walk. Resort had $5 showers and food.

Sometimes the host of a campground sets the tone.Kimo is the best. He is just cool. Friendly, kind and so very helpful. He is constantly present in the camp. Either on his bike or making rounds in his truck. He sets the mood of a relaxed peaceful camp experience.

Timo is an excellent camp host. He goes way beyond what is required from him. Last year he saw we left behind a picnic chair. He saved it for us for a whole year and returned it to us when we arrived. Restrooms are immaculate by pit standards. Thank you Timo!

Kimo, the campground host, was terrific, knowledgeable, and very easy to talk to. The campground was very nice, well located near Trumbull Lake, with easy access to the hiking trails up to the Virginia Lakes and beyond. The dumpster and bathrooms were clean, but smelled, so if the wind was right, it was overpowering. I recommend a campsite away from the bathrooms and dumpster.

Great location right by the lake. The restrooms are only vault toilets but there's a lot of water dispensers around so you never have to walk far. Our host Kemo was an absolute darling and helped us where he could. Large campsites.

Nice campground and the camp manager is polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Site 39 may be a regular go-to site if it weren't for the trash dumpster placed adjacent to the site. The "corner" location does provide a pretty good view of towering peaks above the lake (but no view of the lake itself) which is nice, but the dumpster and nearby restroom result in a nearly constant parade of campers past the site. The campground is well kept and generally quiet. Be sure to use the bear box at night because the campers next to me that did not were visited by a hungry bear one night and their site was ravaged. The lakes are beautiful and anglers of all ages were catching fish from Trumble Lake (I can't speak for the Virginia Lakes but assume they're good fishing, too). The Virginia Lakes Resort recently celebrated its 100th anniversary and is super convenient for basic supplies and tackle, and serves breakfast and lunch until late afternoon. Bridgeport and Twin Lakes are a short drive with good fishing, and the old mining town of Bodie is nearby and worth the visit (be sure to take the stamp mine tour!) as well as Mono Lake and the forest service visitor center.

This whole area is magic! Ive been bringing my family up here for over 20 years and its still calls to us. Every time we visit its just a little bit different because its so high and altitude that you never know what youre gonna get. Also Kimo the host is amazing. Hardest working guy Ive ever met. Hes is constantly cleaning and tending to campground need. A real treasure.

We loved Trumbull Lake Campground. The only reason it didnt earn a 5-star is because our neighbors were loud. They were just enjoying themselves, but did not quiet down until after we were in our tent going to sleep. Other than this one group, the campground was quiet and peaceful.

Best host, Kimo. Always greets and helps in any way he can. Great fishing at both upper and lower Virginia Lakes. Resort has many amenties for such a high Sierra experience. Been going there for 18 years.

The campground and our campsite (#30) were very clean and comfortable. We were very happy with the ranger who checked in with us multiple times and offered wood for sale right out of his white pickup truck. The bathroom and water areas were clean and stocked. The lodge employees were great and the lakes were clean and beautiful. We can't wait for our next visit.

The camp host, Kemo, is the best camp host we ever had. He keeps the campsites family friendly and is very helpful. He is quick to enforce the rules (noise, speed limits, etc.) and takes no BS from rude campers. He makes this campground wonderful.

Nice bathrooms.We were in #6. Wish there was better parking for our two vehicles. One had to park in the turn around.

Campground is on a slight slope, so most of the sites are as well - otherwise, perfect spot! Lovely high-elevation campground on Trumbull Lake and easy hike to several other Virginia lakes. Gorgous!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
