Great host. Clean restrooms. Quiet area. Adjacent to good hiking and beautiful views. While there is no water at this site, we knew that going in so it wasnt a problem.

Absolutely gorgeous group campsite, right beside a nice small fishing creek. 2 bear bunkers at site that were a new style --- opening from the side so that all the contents were readily accessible. Vault toilet was immaculate with no odor and also had a stand with sanitizing liquid just outside it. The disadvantages of this camp were no potable water, and an 11 mile gravel and rocky road to get there. Road is easily passible with a normal sedan in the daytime, but I would not travel it at night without a 4 wheel drive or pickup. We knew of the water situation in advance and used a couple of large insulated containers (5 & 3 gal) and some large water jugs from the local stores to supply us quite easily.

This campground is such a gem, hosted by the wonderful Vincent who is beyond attentive and welcoming. If you have the option of driving in an SUV, I would recommend it because the road in is incredible long and bumpy and was rough on my Corolla, but we did make it. The group sites themselves are huge and far enough apart that you don't really see or hear anyone else- just the river the trees around you. Vincent came around several times to check on us and offer us some of his recommendations of things to do in the area, and if you forgot to buy firewood on the way in he will sell you a bundle. As a side note- the regular campsites are $18, first come first serve, and Vincent said that in his 5 years running the campground they have only ever fully filled up once. We stayed for 2 nights, and the first night was wonderful listening to the sound of the creek all night. The second day we got up early to hike up to Green Lake (a must do if you're there). It was 75 and sunny during our hike, but by late afternoon had dropped to 37 and raining even through there was no rain in the forecast in the days leading up to the trip. Unfortunately our tent was not properly weatherproofed and started to get some water inside, and by the time we took the L and were heading out to find a motel for the night it actually started to snow. By the time we returned in the morning to pack up camp our tent was collapsed from the weight of the snow on it. All this to say make sure you are prepared for all different types of weather if you visit in early spring. I truly loved our time here and most definitely plan to come back. It is the perfect weekend escape with no cell service to tempt you to be on your phone.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
