This was a nice campground close to Munising and Pictured Rocks with access to the lake. Our spot was very private, surrounded by trees. It was clean, has a dump station.

In early October, the campground was full but very quiet at night - a pleasant surprise! We sat on the beach for a while to watch the sunset and the stars, and saw a bunch of folks out with flashlights looking for sodalite rocks.

We have been camping at Bay Furnace for 6 years or so and we always enjoy our time there. It is always clean, quiet,and beautiful. There is a downfall,and that is the fact that people are always collecting buckets or bags full of rocks or glass from the beach. The road going into the park also is in disrepair and needs a lot of work. Too many potholes to even get around them. Please use some of the money that you acquire from your campers to repair the road. Thank You

Been here several times. Only drawback to this location is the road into the campsites is in horrible shape. Potholes galore, feel sorry for those pulling trailers as you could not swerve to avoid them. Rip up the crumbling asphalt and put down gravel, at least you can grade that.

Not the greatest campground I've stay at, but a good place to spend a few days. The Vault Toilets were spotless, they looked brand new. I had a good site for Morning Solar and kept my Batteries near 100%. Especially nice to be so close to the pictured rocks attractions, Au Trains Best Pasties at the AuTrain Grocery, and the Casino that made me glad I was camping!

The sites are very spread out and the facilities are well maintained. It was a windy night so car noise wasnt an issue but I could imagine nights where the road noise would be an issue.

Very nice well spaced out sites, pretty beach. Easy drive to pictured rocks. A bit noisy by the highway though but not much traffic late

Site 29 is FCFS ( ie. Not reservable) Large, spacious, fairly flat. Partly shaded in afternoon as sun heads west. Picnic table and fire pit Potable water spigot nearby, Dumpster close, Pit toilets near dumpster Att good Starlink great Road in is kinda rough, pot holes but not very long. Hosts and site manager are really friendly and helpful. I placed an Amazon order as they said I could get deliveries. ( as luck, Amazon used USPS for this delivery - so am hoping they will deliver to campground)

I was fortunate to book campsite #10. This campsite is directly on Lake Superior with a full view. The campground is in good condition. The road into the campground could use some maintenance. There were 2 vault toilets for my loop. The campground hosts did a good job to keep them clean and stocked but that was not always possible. There were a lot of flies. My Verizon phone did not have a strong signal in the campground. Across the street from the campground was a casino. There was strong signal from the casino parking lot. This campground is a short drive to Munising where many tour vendors and restaurants are located.

Large sites with a lot of vegetation throughout campground. Really nice beach and interesting historical site with the furnace. Entry road pretty rough. Good water availability and dump station in good order. Excellent location for area activities.

The camp hosts were very helpful. I believe it was Bob and Carol. Both checked in with us to ask how we were doing and to answer any questions we might have. They also helped us locate to a different site that wasn't originally available when we first showed up. The bathrooms were very clean.

We love this campground. It's a great home base for exploring pictured rocks. Sites are adequately separated from each other and hosts are friendly. We'll be back next year.

Very nice rustic camping. Beautiful beaches and views of Lake Superior. The road is rough and loaded with potholes. Take it slow! Pit toilets are modern and clean. The campground hosts are nice and helpful keeping the area clean and maintained. Bay Furnace is close to a casino and to Musining where you will find the best pasties anywhere. Also, the picture rocks lakeshore is spectacular. Take the excursion for the best views.

the bathrooms there were the cleanest I have ever seen in a campground!! The host and the park manager were extremely friendly and helpful. Wonderful campsite. Gorgeous area and we could take a short walk to the beach and Lake Superior!

Nice host. Love the fact that campground has both reservations and FCFS sites. Plenty of sites for larger RVs. Some shaded, some full sun. Most times Verizon was unusable.

Bay Furnace is on Lake Superior. Beautiful views, many different waterfalls the area to visit. Minutes from quaint Munising. One of our favorite places to camp.

Great campground and hosts. Clean restrooms and relaxing atmosphere. There were not any mosquitos when I went but there were flys in the mornings. The restaurant to the west of the entrance is a good place to eat, I had all my dinners there. To let you know there was no power to the campsites and no showers. I was able to find a shower at a campground about one mile to the east for $8 at the time of writing this.

We had a more interior lot. It was nice, quiet, and private. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the sounds of nature. Next time, we'll try to opt for a lot on or closer to the lake to get more of a breeze.

We stayed in site 10. Excellent views and the weather was great. Campground hosts did an excellent job of maintaining the facilities.

It was clean. Quiet. Plenty of privacy on the sites. And the camp host was helpful. My guess is, the closer you are to the camp host, the quieter the campers.

Primitive camping. Site was big enough for our 34er.& spacious. Nice site close to beach. Bring your own water, no filling station or dumping station.

Temp never got above 55 degrees daytime for three days, but the scenery was beautiful. Treat yourself to a Pastie and the Pictured Rocks boat tour.

Our stay at Bay Furnace was wonderful. Carol and Bob were excellent camp hosts. They stopped by daily to make sure our stay was going well and to provide restaurant options and places to visit while in the area.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
