We had a men’s camping trip with a group from our church. We reserved the group site and a couple individual sites. The place was perfect for hiking,fishing and just relaxing. We were able to ride to the welcome center that was close and check out the Elk. Cherokee was a great spot for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend.

Felt like a detention center, our group was regarded with suspicion and harrasment. We were constantly being checked up on by the camp host. When we arrived, instead of asking if we had reservations they assumed we were trespassing and tried to kick us out. They also filed a complaint to the rangers office because of “speeding on a public road” (we were not) outside the park in maggie valley. Additionally we were cited for leaving an EMPTY cooler outside due to bear risk. Really felt discriminated against due to our race. I have been camping across the carolinas, southwest, and upstate NY for over 15 years and I have never been treated with such disrespect. Will not be visiting again and will stick to US Forest Service campgrounds, and backpacking on the AT.

I reserved group spots G1 & G3 for a group that was supposed to be about 30 people but because of people not being able to make it I ended up having about 18 people come. The sites were very clean and well laid out. Because we were mostly single people or couples there was only space for about 10 people per group site tent-wise but plenty of space for everyone at one group site for meals and hanging out around the campfire. I wish G2 was available when I reserved because it is the site that is furthest away from the regular campground. When you have a group of friends who haven't seen each other in years its frustrating to have to monitor noise level during quiet hours (10pm) when you are right across the street from regular tent sites. The only thing that could have improved my visit was if group sites were more secluded. The campground is beautiful and pristine and the best campground in the Smokies.

We reserved the entire Group Campsite at Smokemont for 2 nights for an annual campout of our hiking club. It was a great experience, and this site was perfect for our needs. We had plenty of room for 30 people and almost that many small tents. The entire site, including the restroom facilities , was very clean and comfortable. The location was also perfect, since there are so many hiking options nearby.

Group camp sites were a little closer together than I would have liked, but the bathroom house and dishwashing station so nearby made it feel very hospitable and convenient for our group. Very clean and updated bathroom. Ample parking as well. Loved being so close to the stream with a perfect spot to take a dip and play. Easy access to hiking trails right from camp. Quiet campground with ample shade.

Our group reserved all three group sites and had plenty of room to spread out. Great location on the creek and for kids to bike on the paved campground loop road.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
