It was a very nice campground. One of the faucet in the men's bathroom didn't work and one of the stalls didn't have a toilet seat. Other than that, everything was nice. The park hosts were nice and friendly.

Wonderful campground! Close to many great spots, by car and by walking. Great place to start your adventures at the Grand Canyon!

I did not make a reservation. There were quite a few empty spaces. It took the agent forever to find me a spot and we have an 18 ft trailer that is easy to place. I think the on line system showed the campground was full. There seems to be a problem with no-shows. Maybe you should make sites non refundable.

Great place, everything is very close and the bathrooms are right on one side.

This is a great campground! It was disappointing that there were no showers or laundry when we visited, but for $18 and this kind of location, it really can't be beat. Bathrooms were nicely kept and flush toilets.

The Mather Campground is well-maintained and in a beautiful setting. The free bus system is easy to access and expands your vistas of the canyon greatly. There are plenty of restaurants, markets, and taverns to make restful stops in the park.

Nicecampground. Elk and ravens. Lots of headlights and a bit noisy, but large sites with lots of rooms for tents.

Very good spot and pretty close to the canyon itself

No advance notice was given that campfires weren't allowed because of water restrictions, it forced us to leave early or risk spoiling all the food we brought with plans to cook on the fire, we're a low income family and can't just afford to buy an overpriced propane stove from the park's general store.

Booked this campground for the showers for my gf who was first time camping. Had no showers available and was not allowed to have a campfire. Would have rather just did dispersed camping at that point. Would have been free and quieter than the campground

With a view from our campsite of Half Dome what more needs to be said. The campground was also very clean and quite.

Its a good spot if you are hiking into the canyon and its nice to camp when coming out of the canyon. Check-in was good, very friendly and helpful. Cant say the same about fellow campers, lots of car door slamming, and I had the experience of a camper running its generator for serveral hours in the evening which totally takes away from the experience of tent camping. Water at the showers was turned off while I was there, but Im sure that will get fixed soon.

Nice camp, well organized, all necessary info at reception even if no staff. Unfortunately, showers didn't work because of a pipeline failure.
@DonaldH6846342 · Camped on Sep 3, 2024 at Campsite #52
We were getting reports the water crisis was over. The staff had no information to share but mixed messages. Poor communication at best.

Great campground. We were able to get a good spot, close to a bathroom on the same day we arrived, but this was the off-season. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only problem we had was crows getting into a styrofoam cooler when we drove off to see the sunrise, but that was entirely our fault. Shower were not available because of the broken water main. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

There are a lot of sites here, but it didn't feel cramped at all. We had plenty of space, privacy, and shade. The grounds were clean. Facilities were also very clean. This was a great launchpad for exploring all the Grand Canyon had to offer, and a great place to recharge when needed.
@JPD960EDEA6C0E · Camped on Aug 31, 2024 at Campsite #223
Check in staff was excellent especially considering all of the issues with the broken water main which added an extra burden to all park employees. Laura (I really apologize as I hope this is her name...) was absolutely amazing and worked with everyone to ensure that they had the best site possible for same-day walk ins. She really made everyone feel like they were being taken care of...because she did take care of us!

I loved this campground. It had great amenities and the location was fantastic. You can hop on the greenway right from the campground. The visitor center is 5 minutes away. The campground was really pretty with lots of trees. This is where I will always stay when I go to the Grand Canyon.
@JamesW5759385 · Camped on Aug 29, 2024 at Campsite #157
Great campsite, fabulous location. Better posting of generator hours and noise ban (no music at 7am) would be a nice addition!

A great location in delightful surroundings.
@JERRYH8455525 · Camped on Aug 26, 2024 at Campsite #197
I decided not to camp there, since I received an email saying there was no water there.
@pennyeD4C7FE6A · Camped on Aug 26, 2024 at Campsite #80
Camp sites are ok. The staff was great. The day we left they closed the camp due to the water main break. That was the only downer of the trip no showers available. It was supper crowded but still very beautiful.
@MaryB2951694 · Camped on Aug 25, 2024 at Campsite #157
Beautiful campsites, clean bathrooms, quiet, attentive park rangers. Everything one could want for camping

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
