Loved this campground. I pulled in and was initially very disappointed because the sites were so close together with no privacy. We were about to leave but I stopped by the host and he showed me to a site that was very big and very private. Site 11, probably the only private spot, it was great and could easily setup 3 tents there. It was a bit loud at night on one of the nights, however we stayed 5 days and by the time we left, we were the only people there. I'll definitely be returning.

Great, small camping site with lots of tree coverage. Our spot was near the stream but the vault toilet was out of commission which was factored into our site choice when we purchased. Regardless, would absolutely stay here again

Quiet campground.

We loved the campsite. It was spacious, clean, and nicely shaded. We appreciated the water spigot right there at the end of the parking area. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. The camp sites were spread out enough that we felt a lot of privacy and we didn't have any trouble with noise. It was a great place and we would happily come back again in the future.

We were in the lower loop fyi, the vaulted bathroom in that section is roped off and closed. You have to walk up to the upper loop or drive to the other bathrooms. Things to do: The Ice Caves were amazing and fun!

Wed reserved site 14 but when we arrived we found out that the pit toilet in that loop was out of order - and had been for two years we later discovered. We found an empty FCFS site in the main loop and the host let us switch to it. It was a nice site but we discovered that the water faucet for that area was inoperable so we had to walk a short distance around the loop to another water faucet. This is a nice small quiet campground that needs some infrastructure repairs to make it back to its original condition.

Close to local waterfalls. Pretty creek that runs through campground. Very friendly camp host!

I enjoyed the 2 nights I spent at Moss Creek Campground. I want to give a shout out to the Camp Host (I believe he said his name was Jackson). He was informative, polite, friendly and made sure the bathrooms were spotless & the garbage emptied.

Toilets were clean, and the campsites were a good distance apart.

Beautiful camp site on the river. Bathroom was clean. Host was very friendly and shared some knowledge of the local ecology and history of the area. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A great campground.

The location is really peaceful. Camping at #6 was quiet and restful with some road traffic noise during the day. Bathroom door needs repair and campground host not readily available. Nice very cold small river nearby.
@ChristiR571200 · Camped on Aug 3, 2022 at Campsite #8
Nice little campground; however, bathroom was unusable it had so many flies in it.
@KarenB2737002 · Camped on Jul 25, 2022 at Campsite #8
The campground is very peaceful. The sites are large and nicely spaced. However the outhouse need work. One was closed, another the door was ajar. Someone decided to go behind the outhouse instead of in it. We never saw our camp host, which was fine, but we were concerned about their well being as it was 90 plus outside during our visit. A group, 3 vehicles, showed up for an evening picnic. Immediately there was a conflict between their dog and the neighbors, so they moved to a farther site but were still loud and could be heard a quarter mile away.

Lovely campground surrounded by beautiful trees - enjoyed relaxing by the glacial creek on a hot day with the family. Very peaceful. Only feedback I have is - Site 004 (the one we stayed in) was pretty close to the road, loud vehicles created noise pollution waking me a couple times that night, interrupted the nature sounds. Also the bathrooms really need attention, neither of the doors could be closed - appeared broken. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Camped at Moss Creek Campground with the intention of canoeing on Disappearing Lake at South Prairie. This is the closest campground at 13 Mi away. It is hard to beat a visit to mother nature and Moss Creek area was beautiful. Don't know why it is called Moss Creek as it is on the Little White Salmon River. A close trail head is Little Huckleberry Mountain Trail trailhttps://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/washington/little-huckleberry-trail We reserved Site #6 which turned out to be not shaded so tent got pretty hot during the day (Late June), most other sites are shaded. Of the four vault toilets one was closed completely (no Repairs scheduled) the Accessible restroom had the doors rotting and falling off, the third had no TP in it, the fourth was maintained and of course right next to the Camp Host. Camp Host was nice and pleasant once we met him, but I think he was working on a research project or something, so we didn't see him but once or twice. Water was available but not all spigots worked. Camp was easy to find and access, no biting bugs or mosquitos, plenty of birds. Good visit overall

Pretty spot. No water available and no alert listed to be able to plan for lack of water. Camp sites close to road are noisy with fast traffic.
@JIMB8977280 · Camped on Jun 12, 2022 at Campsite #14
This is our 4th time at Moss Creek. We enjoy this campground. However it is in serious need of a facelift. The campground road needs to be re-paved. The #4 bathroom is still closed by camp sites 13 & 14. On this visit there was no water you had to bring your own. The campground does have a nice forest experience and is small, quiet and is well located.

nice secluded sites-near a stream

Tidy, nice pit toilets and so fun to be by the river! We’d go here again. Spotty T-Mobile service.

I was up for 14 days at Moss Creek. Three and one half days was spent listening to a huge motor home's generator as long as 12 hours. Camp hosts have no power to regulate generators except at quiet time. The company the Forest Service has running the camp allows generators. Another thing is the openness of marijuana smoking in the campground despite being illegal. There's a problem with dogs roaming the campground despite it not being permitted. I did enjoy the days that didn't have the generator noise.

Moss creek is SO CLOSE to ideal. There are perfect, not-too-rushing riverside spots at an elevation that doesn't get too cold at night. It just seems as if the campsite is suffering from slow, tortuous neglect. The water pumps near sites 8/9/10 have been out for a long time. OK, sure, you have to wlk for water, fine! At least the vault toilet is well maintained. The vault toilet near sites 13/14 has been out since last year, but at least the water pumps work! And last year, they brought in porta potties, so site 14 - which is the best one - at least had servicable toilets. But those portas haven't been services since SEPTEMBER 2020. They were shockingly, incredibly unsanitary. Whatever contamination closed the vault toilets, over there, these slowly overflowing portas are worse. The camp host was nonexistent, of course. It's a real shame, as these sites are family-friendly, picturesque and awesome otherwise. I really hope someone puts a little care into Moss Creek, because it's a magic place that's worth the effort.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
