A great place to stay on the way out (or in) from Mt. Rainier National Park. Our campsite backed up to Big Creek, a tributary (I believe) of the Nisqually River, which begins on Mt. Rainier's Nisqually Glacier. There's a trail that begins on the backend of the campground and travels into the forest.The facilities were clean and the campsites were pleasant, with the sounds of the creek dimming the sound of traffic nearby.

I stayed in site 13 and it was great! The other camps are not too close and the creek, although not visible, is nearby an audible. It is a smaller site but it was perfect for my small tent. Water spigot is across the road so no one is stopping at this campsite to access water. Toilet was a short walk and was very clean.

Annette, the campground host was outstanding! Nice sites, good bathrooms, quiet hours observed.

We enjoyed a family reunion over a 2-night stay and introduced my 1-year old grandson to camping. The weather was beautiful and we had a fine time. Annette, the camp host, was very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to returning next summer.

good site! solid area, very pretty, spacious, not loud. pretty gnarly pit toilet though -- I've definitely had worse but I've also had better.

This is a beautiful campground. campsite 20 is not a 5 star site. Pros: Close to water Spicket and bathroom Cons: Late afternoon sun, small site for a 6person tent, very lumpy ground, not a good spot for a hammock plus tent. Bugs were horrendous. Also, we had some drama once we got to the tent site. The people who were there for two days before us decided to stay an extra day and then tell us that they had booked the site. The campus was not Available. But then, when I pulled out my toddler, the people were finally nice and decided to move to a different site. It was not a welcoming event. Will stay at here again for sure, but I had a different site. 24 seemed better and sites 1011 are closer to the water.

Such a great spot! We had pretty wet weather so the campground was quiet for our stay. Such an easy drive to get right into the National Park. The host was friendly and attentive and while vault toilets are never glamorous, the handful of toilets here were well tended. There are a lot of trees and undergrowth separating the sites from each other so there was a decent amount of privacy for most sites. This particular site doesnt have much overhead tree coverage so there wont be much shade on hot sunny days. The tent pad doesnt have much wiggle room with a lot of vegetation around it so our large tent was a tight fit.

Great campground with generous campsites. Perfect for family camping as their are a host of kid-friendly hikes accessible right from the campground.

Could not find the camp host but didn't need to. Our site was large and private, it's a quiet campground. Would definitely return!

Although the outhouses are somewhat primitive, this is a laid back, quiet campground with lots of privacy between sites, big fir trees and a lovely creek running through it.

Stayed in site 13, and we thought it was perfect. Easy to get in and the campground is mostly shade. Heard lots of wildlife. Spaces were large enough, clean, hosts great. Turns out site 1-6 are right on the river (as in feet away from camping/picnic table). Some cell service and we are only a few minutes away from Ashford which is nice if you need anything. Close to the mountain and would make a great base. Big Creek is right there so lots of exploring options and a very long hiking trail that leads up to some lakes.

I had to think long and hard before submitting this review. It would be so much easier keeping this gem to myself - but no. EVERYONE should experience the glory of Big Creek. Roomy site (fit our massive 9x13' tent without crowding picnic table or firepit). Right on the river, peaceful, and very, very green. We've camped this site in 06/22 and 07/23. In June, lots of rushing water, not safe for unattended little kids. This July, the water was slower and kids ~8+ could probably play by the shore. Still, worth noting the current is swift, likely year round. In June, the water was so loud at site 6 that it drown out most other sounds. In July, we could hear some periodic highway noise and a rooster trying to wake the world. Still - one of the most peaceful places on earth.Enjoy!PS - If the weather is nice, consider a daytrip to Paradise on Mt. Rainier. Its just 23 miles away!

Nice site, unable to talk to camp hosts since they weren't available. Unfortunate since we had questions, but good experience overall. Would not recommend site 1, small and close to the road.

This is my second time here, inside a year. I love how large the spots are. Clean, quiet, and close to Mt Rainier

Camp host was very nice and accommodating, camp sites are small in terms of space for cars to park but absolutely BEAUTIFUL otherwise. Will definitely be coming back!

Better investment to stay here than Cougar campground. Camp host is very nice and campground is super quiet. Great place to sleep. No one bothers you and everyone’s doing their own thing. Can’t go wrong with any of the sites, they are so private and well maintained. Would book again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
