We liked the campground so much that we extended our stay for serval more days. Close to bike and hike trails. We plan to come back to this campground in the next year or two.

Loved site 36 but unfortunately was camping next to a loud party of guys from Massachusetts who were up past 1am. I should have moved sites when I pulled in at 8pm and saw them. The campground was nearly empty.

We had a very disappointing stay at this campground. Despite having reserved our site (July 2-5), the previous camper remained parked there seven hours past check-out. The camp host initially argued that we didn't have the site reserved, even after we showed proof. The host finally checked the reservation list and contacted the previous camper, who was part of a group that reserved multiple sites (49, 51, 52, 53, 54).The previous camper, eventually moved their camper but left trash and a towel behind. We had to clean up their mess, and the camp host did not check on the site's cleanliness. On July 5th, the same group ran three generators until 3:30 AM despite being told to shut them down by the host. They initially complied but restarted them once the host left. The next night, they ran generators until 10:05 PM, only stopping because I confronted the host in the road with my complaints.During July 5th and 6th, the group had 4-6 vehicles per site, with guests staying until midnight. Their vehicles and boats were parked hazardously, half on and half off the road. A Jeep from their group repeatedly drove the wrong way down a one-way road on both days. On July 6th, we returned at 9 PM to find their guest's vehicle blocking our campsite entrance, and they refused to move it.The group also drank excessively both nights. When I asked the host for help with their rule violations, he casually opened a beer from his cooler and drank in front of me. Additionally, the neighboring campsite had an aggressive off-leash dog that entered our site three times, and their kids rode bikes through our site, agitating our leashed dog.Finally, on July 6th, a guest from the troublesome group entered our site and aggressively demanded I turn off my truck lights, as they were bothered while drinking and smoking in the road. The situation was unacceptable, and the lack of action from the camp host made it worse.

Its very quieter and private for the most part, I do wish they would have some electric sites so it would give people more options running a generator is costly and loud. The upkeep on the bathrooms was done well, in my opinion they are in need an upgrade it would entice more people to visit this campground instead of just the bath county side.

No host available to show us where the group site is as it's separate from the main camp. After a 3 hour drive and about a hour knocking on both host doors and looking we decided to find it on our own. Site had garbage including a used maxi pad. The group site neighbors were up until 2 am cursing and partying. Who should I complain to the host I couldn't find. Beautiful place but wouldn't stay here again.

Nice quiet camp. On top of a hill literally and the drive to it was beautiful. Great motorcycle ride to and from I-64. Would camp here again. Dont if you have to have cell coverage.

Very nice little campground the hosts were super nice brought wood by the camp for us fairly quiet considering some rvs had generators our neighbors were super respectful and cut theirs off before 10pm some down the road we heard all night but didn't really bother us much but that's a chance u take in a tent lol only complaint is whoever was before us left old fruit right in the tree line behind our spot so we cleaned it up to avoid any critters visiting but overall we loved it and will be back

We arrived without a reservation but had checked availability. Luckily we had just enough cell phone service to book once there. You must have a reservation. No payment envelopes there. We have a 24 foot travel trailer and fit easily in site 37. We did not use the facilities as it was raining. We were amazed at how empty the place was since it's near a boat launch on a reservoir. The sites are good size and looked to be mostly level. A nicely wooded area. A bit out of the way on a narrow curvy road. Longer rigs could have a harder time with the curve on the road to the south. Google maps is slightly off on location. A big sign at the entrance would have been helpful as we had to turn around and go back. Not easy with a trailer.

A group of moms rented the group campgrounds for us & our kids to enjoy for a few nights. The location was a bit remote, but we chose it because we wanted privacy & access to the lake. Our first day & night went off without a hitch. We kept the campground clean & clear of food debris, while storing food in the cars. The second day, we enjoyed the beach & some of our party left. Upon leaving, multiple people, who left a separate times saw a bear on the main road. One of the moms went to the camp host to inquire about bear activity & a rumor that the campground was not fully open due to the bear activity. The camp hosts denied there was an issue & sent the mom on her way. After dinner, the same mom was at the main campground washing dishes. When she returned back to the group campground, the rest of the moms were scattered. Some were keeping kids safe in cars, while others were banging on pots and pans, throwing rocks & shooting off firecrackers at a bear that was about 15' from the campground. The bear just sat & watched, unphased. Further down at the next group campsites, the campers were away, so the bear took advantage of this time to sniff around and climb up on their table. We sent a mom to go ask the camp hosts for help distracting the bear, while we packed up our things. She was met with an annoyed man who asked her if she was sure that the bear wouldn't leave. They did finally come to help but, they arrived with mace and more firecrackers. Thankfully, they stayed until everyone was packed up. This situation could've been avoided had the camp hosts been honest with us. We were put in a situation where we forced to rush to pack up, with extremally frightened children screaming & crying; as the sun was setting. I reached out to the Dept of Forestry & was told this has been an ongoing problem for years. I feel that this information should be made available to future campers prior to booking. The last mom to leave said the bear came and sat on thetableagain

My girlfriend and I stayed one night at Morris Hill, Site #047, May 26-27. If you enjoy essentially sharing your campsite with the next person/party this is the place for you. If you enjoy extremely loud music at all hours, this is the place for you & lastly if you enjoy drunk individuals letting their children run around unattended all night once again this is the place for you. Bathrooms were heavily smoked in, trash was at capacity, just overall don't recommend especially on these dates. Id like to think it might have been a better experience on a weekday or anytime its not at capacity.

The location is nice and remote and offers quick access to Lake Moomaw. However, since it is on top of a ridge, and it being in the middle of October, there was a TON of wind at the campsite. I ended up not staying all three nights as I had planned. Would love to come back in the future.

It's a really nice campground, but our experience was ruined by an inconsiderate neighbor in an RV running a generator all evening while they were not even there. It was such a terrible experience we left after the first night. Please stop allowing loud generators at public campgrounds!

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
