Well organized, clean. Very accommodating camp host. They help us moved to 3 sites in a row so family could be together rather than different sites.

Great little campground. Our site (#2) did not have any shade but we used our awnings and did just fine. The sites in our loop were large with nice space between sites. The grounds are very well maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were disappointed that the bridge was locked but it was not the fault of the campground. A very relaxing, peaceful experience.

This is a very peaceful place to come if you want a relaxing, quiet camping experience. The campsites are well maintained and the bathhouses are kept in good repair. The electric and water at each site work well. The bath house on the East end is much smaller and there is little privacy when showering. The West end facility is much larger. They are using a sub-contractor to clean the facilities, and for the most part they are kept up well. We did have to mention to the host about an issue with cleaning the facilities, but it was cared for the next day. Speaking of hosts, they are friendly and responsive to comments from guests. It would be nice if they had an on-site ice sales, but they are quite a ways out in the country so it might be hard to get a vendor to supply it. They now have a solar powered phone charger at each end. The site map showed a wi-fi station but we did not see it. There are repairs being made on some of the walkways and at the moment you are restricted from walking across the little bridge. If you just want to chill out (NOT referring to temps), come visit this facility and bring a good book.

This is my local "go to place in Florida!" Just need to figure out how to catch some fish. The local bait area is more than a few miles away and Walmart can't keep it on the shelves.

The site locations are great, beautiful view of the canal. My only problem was, it stated on the map there were two docks to fish from. There was only one, and to be honest it should be condemned. The pylons were either worn down to nothing or not existent. They also had the locks shut down for viewing due to security issues? This was not disclosed ahead of time.

Beautiful, peaceful and scenic location but small and therefore very hard to get a reservation. Would definitely use in the future if available.The BurrellsBogart GaGOOO DAWGS!!

We travel the country extensively and Ortona Locks South is one of our very favorite campgrounds. It's quiet, clean, friendly and yet not far from good eats if you so desire not to cook at your RV. Camp Hosts are always attentive and grounds are well maintained. Not a bad thing about our little getaway "secret".

Just love the tranquility and the working of the dams. The sites are always well maintained.

Small quiet campground to chill and watch boats go through the lock, The whole process to traverse the state is very cool . One camper wanted to show his political affiliation and thankfully was told to take it down. A public campground is no place to display political paraphernalia.

We enjoyed a peaceful weekend with a constant breeze off the river. Felt like we had the place almost to ourselves. Beautiful stars to see at night at this very well maintained and taken care of campground.

Our stay at Ortona South Campground was absolutely fantastic in every way. The spacious sites provided ample room for our camper, and the level concrete pad made setup a breeze. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, we enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and felt completely immersed in nature.The campground's cleanliness, especially the bathroom and shower facilities, was impressive, contributing to a comfortable stay. Additionally, the easy-to-use dump station and well-maintained electric and water hookups added convenience to our camping experience.We appreciated the thoughtful layout of the campground, which allowed plenty of space and shade for our large dogs to relax in. The grounds were meticulously maintained, creating a pleasant environment for leisurely walks and relaxation.The campground hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Safety was never a concern, and we felt secure at all times.Exploring the locks and observing the diverse fish and wildlife added an extra dimension of enjoyment to our trip. And when the sun set, gathering around the campfire was the perfect way to end the day.Moreover, the campground's proximity to a store came in handy for any forgotten essentials, ensuring a stress-free experience. Overall, Ortona South Campground exceeded our expectations, and we already booked our next stay!!

Quiet and breezy. The sites are well conceived, flat and spacious. My site has shade, although most do not.

Quiet, clean and great location. A relaxing place off the beaten path , but still have towns close by. Love this place

This is the friendliest COE we have been to! First time here but it felt as though we were returning family. Check in was easy and very friendly. Park is meticulously maintained. Camp Hosts are visible throughout the day and friendly. Not too far out of town but far enough to be very quiet and dark!! Hosts exceeded expectations to ensure our stay was very pleasant. Observing the locks in action was an added bonus. Will be making future reservations!

Always one of my favorite places to go good camp hosts and no one acting up.

Like most COEs, the spacing was great, the power and electric worked perfect, and the bathrooms / showers were clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful, and almost every spot had a water view. We walked down to the wood fishing dock and saw manatees feeding on the plants. Not a ton to do real close, but if you are looking for a relaxing stay, this would work find!

Beautiful campground with cement pads. Restrooms were clean and the campground was quiet. Great to walk across the damn and locks and watch boats go through the locks. Xfinity cell service was good. It was a good base camp to relax and visit friends and family in different directions from LaBelle, FL.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
