We had an incredible stay here and the cabin easily accommodated our group of 5. The cabinet in the living room was so well stocked with books, puzzles, and games that if we stayed here again we wouldn't bring any of our own. The stairs are pretty noisy for middle-of-the-night bathroom trips and the walls are not very soundproof so if anyone in your group is restless or snores, bring your earplugs. The kitchen is extremely well-appointed. The only thing we found lacking was oven mitts which we remedied for future guests. The hike to nearby Holland Falls is worth the ~3.5 miles round trip or so and about 800 feet of elevation gain but be prepared to have dogs on leashes. The last section requires clamoring over some boulders to get to the best views of the falls (and a sweet lunch spot).

Fabulous! We love the cabin and surrounding area. The Only drawback is the inability to close the gate, The lookie Lou's parade into the compound and its really needless bothering. Other than that it was an awesome experience!

We had an incredible time at the old ranger station. The kitchen is fully stocked and the bedrooms are cute and comfy. Bring Camp chairs as the rocking chairs are tethered to the porch unless you want to sit on medal benches all night. The fire grate is pretty rusted out, so also be prepared for that if you plan to cook over the fire. We went in mid June and the mosquitos were THICK, so bring spray or thermacells or lots of wood to keep a fire going.

The building was super clean, like the floors were shining and sparkling when we walked in, and everything else was spotless as well! The kitchen is very well-stocked and organized, lots of space on the main floor to hang out, full electricity for lights and cooking. All the bedrooms are on the downstairs “garden level” with tons of beds, also all very clean. Fantastic place, we were all very impressed with it!

Amazing experience in a wonderfully kept old ranger station. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, the hot water was GREAT. Would 100% stay again!

Late Winter-Early Spring snow storm put a damper on some of our activities. But the stay at the cabin was very nice, especially if you like to read and do photography.

This cabin is amazing! The kitchen is very well stocked with dinnerware, pots and pans, utensils, etc. Everything we needed was there. (The coffee maker takes cone filters, but round filters work.) The beds were very comfortable and the cabin was very cool to spite how warm it was outside. Just made sure to close the windows and shades during the day. The beavers decided to try to cover the road with water, thankfully the road is a big U and there was another way out. I would not hesitate to rent this location again and recommend this location to anyone looking for a great place to stay! We spent several days in Glacier while staying at the cabin. Also spent time in Whitefish and Kalispell, both great places to visit. We hoped to see more wildlife, but aside from mule deer and squirrels it was pretty quiet around the cabin. Saw lots of wildlife while traveling the road back and forth from our day trips. I have rented other cabins and this one is one of the best. We had several people in our group that had never done this kind of trip and they really enjoyed themselves. Unfortunately they are now spoiled for life!

Our family had a lovely time here! Would definitely recommend the hike to Holland Falls for others new to the area. The cabin itself is well cared for. We hope to return.

We love staying in this cabin, but the Forest Service decided to do a controlled burn around the cabin and the surrounding area the 1st full day we were there. They filled the cabin with smoke. They said they would have the fires out before they left so we left & came back at 6:00 PM to find fires burning all around the cabin and nobody on site. We found fires that were 6 foot flames & tried to put some of them out especially those close to the cabin. The forest service wanted to let them burn. We had to put up with smoke for 3 days from the fires. They need to not rent the cabin if they are going to burn around. Anyone else who would leave an open fire burning without supervision would be fined for doing so.

Very well appointed and comfortable cabin. Amazing to have 3 bedrooms! Elk were in the woods on the way in. Lovey views of the Mission range.

Cabin is fully equipped. Only thing missing is a shower but $4 per shower is available a few miles south on the highway. We extremely enjoyed the stay, and as what appears to be part of the tradition of staying there, added two more mouse traps, three fly swatters and a pizza cutter to the unit's equipment. Did not know how two wasps gained entrance, but we bagged them both. Its very quiet and beautiful. Only visitors we had, with two legs, was an English family who followed the signs from the road and were curious about the place. Many animal sounds could be heard. Moose being the loudest. Unbelievable scenery. Well worth the effort to visit this gorgeous location if you want to get away from the "hustle and bustle" of modern life. Also, good luck finding the clues and hidden two, one dollar bills. We found one, but not the other or two of the clues. I guess Sherlock is not my middle name... : ) PS You're not suppose to keep the dollar bills when you find them, but re-hide them with new clues for the next visitors to find.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
