The campground is small (10 sites) so it was pretty quiet. Most the sites have nice views of the lake. You can walk to the lake from the campground. The lake is beautiful. The water was so clear we could see fish swimming around. We had a great time fishing with our grandchildren.

Our family had a great time. The only off-putting thing was the torrential rains we had while there. Guess there's nothing you folks can do about that. We had to dig trenches through the campsite to channel water so the whole area didn't flood. Also, the trees had been really thinned, so there wasn't as much good shade. The kids just thought the whole thing was a great adventure.

This is a hidden gem that was a delight. There were a lot of things that were just not right, but none really to do with the campground. The host was not present, he apparently had two days off and he had not put up any reservation signs. Of course, we had not managed to get our paperwork for this, and only this campground into our truck and we left cell and internet service behind 18 miles and an hour's drive behind us. We ended up taking a site with no pink tag and the next day someone else took our site. We were not the least bothered by not "being in our site" but we were bothered that other people coming in without a reservation were not able to pay (pay host only, no envelopes nor any other method to pay) and no one knew which sites were reserved. When he did put up the signs his handwriting was so small you had to walk right up to the tag to read it and no one could figure out his system. The restroom was clean enough, but they kept getting worse and were not cleaned in the three days we were there. So that is stuff not related to the beauty of the campground, the joy of fishing, paddling in the lake, and the quiet. It is an amazing place and as long as you don't mind a long trip into the campground, it is well worth exploring. The area has amazing beauty and we would put up with quite a bit to be in that type of beauty again.

Was just at Anderson Meadows Campground for 3 nights, and finally saw the camp host in person on the way out to go home. Camp host was not on site until after 8pm each night of our trip. No firewood available for purchase, we had to use what we could split from all of the downed trees in the camp. Looks like they’ve taken down close to 70% of the trees in and around the campground, which is concerning to me as the campground lies on the face of a hill,, without roots from trees to keep erosion from taking place, I can see a heavy rain washing this out. We had camp site 8, was exposed to the Sun most of the day due to the removal of trees around the site. Don’t get me wrong, the area is great, but there seems to be felling of trees and clearing of under brush, but it’s almost like they’re setting up to have a wildfire, lots of piles of brush and felled trees waiting to be ignited and tons of mulch from the chipper/shredders throughout the campground. The mulch came in handy to start fires though.

My family loves Anderson's Meadow Campground. We have a family camp there each summer, which we look forward to all year. The surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful, and the camp sites are well-maintained. The camp host is friendly and helpful. Because of the high risk of fire, we weren't able to have a campfire this year. Of course, it was understandable, but we really missed sitting around the campfire in the evening playing games and sharing stories. We are already looking forward to next summer.

I have a 43 ft 5th wheel I tow with a Ram 3500 truck. total length is over 60 ft. Google maps took me up 153 which was a super steep rough dirt road with sharp turns. My truck overheated and I had to stop several times. Also it beat my RV up and bent a leveling jack. also, some things inside the RV broke. It was completely covered in dirt inside and out when I got there. Also, there were no sights for a rig that size. I would only reccomen this campgraound to people with an off road vehicle or a small RV designed for off road camping.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
