I enjoyed the trails and gorgeous views. The campsite was dusty with no shade. The toilets and manure bin were a long way from my site (#18). Luckily I had my own manure cart but it was still a long way to haul it. When I made my reservation the only site available was #18. I was not happy to find when I arrived that there was a group of car/tent campers in a horse site. They were there for 4 nights. The non-horse folks had a site convieniently close to the horse water, manure bin and toilets. They had packed up and left before I could take photos to report to BCH.

The stock water in the 17 loop doesn’t work at all. The corrals are all dry rot and dangerous. My horse easily removed 2 cross pieces to get into my other horses corral. It did not go well.

The 3 stars only refer to the state of the camp, and not the surrounding area, which is GORGEOUS. But many of the corrals are no longer safe to use. One of the horses was able to kick down a corral because the wood was so corroded, which led to a host of dangerous issues. In addition, one of the stock troughs was broken and had been for a long time, which made hauling water cumbersome in site 16. However, the trip overall was wonderful - amazing scenery, some of the best riding in the state.

We should up & someone was in our paid reserved spot and would not move! And they would not refund our money. Very frustrating! No onsite management.

Couldn’t get people out fo my site the first night. These were non horse campers in a site I prepaid for. Rediculous! What happened to horses only in horse campgrounds????

I arrived having booked three sites for my annual girls horse camp trip people in my sites. These were not horse people, just random campers. I told them I had booked this site and they needed to move and they stated the host said they could camp there. The host was a joke. He had not been doing his job and filling out placards for the horse side of the camp ground and telling people they could camp in those sites when no room was in people camps. This is very inappropriate for non horse people to be on horse camps. We have limited space and it’s not fair to use up our sites. I paid a month in advance and I had to fight to get a spot. I had to put my horse in a site with people in it and jam my truck and trailer in a spot that it did not fit until those people left finally. I talked to the host and he was clueless. I had two other sites and only one was useable. People were in the other one too. They just take them. No horses!!!! This is a problem. I had one site that was not occupied by non horse people and I paid over $200 on sites. While I continue to camp with my horses it pains me to give you money. This isn’t my only poor experience with people in horse sites. I had another experience this weekend. Non horse people came into camp and were target shooting. Tents everywhere well over the allowed amount of people in the camp site. This was not a safe situation for a horse camp or any camp in general. It’s getting nuts. Horse camps are for horses. We can’t use people sites so keep them out of horse camps!!!!

We have been to this horse camp many times and absolutely love it. The one complaint we have is that there are more and more campers in the horse camp that do not have horses, and this is supposed to be a horse camp only. The host last year said she was not able to enforce it and really did not seem to care. Someone needs to enforce this as it is getting way out of hand. Frustrating!!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
