The campground itself is pretty nice. The day use people is a different story. The amount of people who show up for the day is unbelievable for the size of the lake. They gotta be a bunch of California transplants that moved to bend. The lack of common sense by the hoard of people is astonishing, they cant park, they cant drive, they cant watch their kids etc. its really a nice little lake but if we go again we wont be going on a weekend.

we reserved #11 for 2 nights but when we got there found that we would have to park our vanogaon on the road and then it was a pretty step hike up to the area with the picnic table and fire ring. They provide a little driveway for your car if you were tent camping but if you're in an RV or van the incline wouldn't be possible. We noticed the site next to us was available for our first night. We found the camp hosts at another campsite and asked about changing for the night. They were soooo helpful. It was a short time before they came by to give us revised car tags and update the site reservation and also told us that another site was going to be available the next day. The took care of it all - very easy - best camp hosts EVER! and we do a lot of camping.

Many years ago sites #6 and #7 were one drive-through site. At some point the site was divided into two very close sites. The passenger side of our 21 foot trailer in site 6 was less than 3 feet from the back side (drivers side) of the travel trailer in site 7. Luckily we got along great, and neither of us used generators and we met to discuss the tight living situation. Also, if you have a travel trailer in site 6 you will find, that like several other sites in Three Creeks Lake CG, (including sites 5, 4 and others) the picnic table is on the wrong side (drivers side) of the site. This is an old CG designed for tents that was modified to create more sites (and revenue). Get suppies and Greg water before arrival. The camp store was not open on the 4 days that we were camping. (Monday through Thursday) and there is no water available at the CG. In late August/early September you may wish to bring 4 - 5 Yellow Jacket traps. The contractor did not supply them. We purchased 4 at BiMart in the town of Sisters upon the recommendation of the campground contractor after a child was stung in nearby site and we were unable to eat outdoors at our site.

Campsite was terrible. Squeezed in next to another site with cars and campers on top of each other. No privacy. This is what the reservation system leads to. Sites unseen that do not work. The fact that everything has been put on a reservation system has ruined camping for us. If we have to have a reservation to camp in a campground, we don't want to be in that campground. Whatever happened to spontaneity and peace and quiet when it comes to camping? Rec.gov has done a lot to ruin the overall camping experience. Thanks a lot.

Great aloine lake fir the family, easy lake access, bot rentals, amazing hiking right at the camp. Lake is at 6500 ft. So weather can get cold anytime of the year at night. So bring your layers :)

Beautiful location by the lake with small number of good sized campsites, good tree screening between them, but close together. Sites across road from lake are much less desirable some on the hill. Our first night we had a great experience with quiet, mutually respectful campers throughout. The next afternoon the 2 campsites next to us on opposite sides of the road were taken by a group of at least 4 different families with many small children who brought 5 different vehicles. Far too many people for these sites. They were walking through other campsites back and forth to the lake, and were so loud, constant f bomb dropping, music blaring, and drinking and this was before 7pm. Should have kept the partying in town. Completely destroyed the peaceful outdoor wilderness experience for everyone else there to enjoy it. Could not take it so left. No camp hosts to monitor and address this either.

We had a very positive experience except for the fact that 4 couples and a bunch of very disruptive and poorly managed kiddos moved into the site right next to the far restrooms. They were drinking heavily, crude and very disrespectful of their fellow campers and their campsites. At least three couples (including us) left just before dark Tuesday evening to avoid confrontations. We all left early and gave up our reservations. It was a very disappointing early end to our vacation. Other than that, we had a great time. Everyone else was respectful and the campsites and facilities were well maintained. If possible, we would appreciate a refund for our last two evenings that we were unable to enjoy. Thanks for all you do to keep up these campgrounds.

The campground was very quiet and well-maintained. We hiked the Tam MacArthur trail one day, and that was beautiful even though it was smoky that day due to forest fires. It was nice to really unplug and spend time with friends and family.

Great place to camp. Our campsite #8 had filtered views of the lake. The beach area was busy with people throughout the day. However, hiking, swimming and trout fishing were great! I will come here again in the off season of September where there are less crowds.

Three Creek Lake campground was very lovely. The hose, Vin, was excellent. He was friendly and informative. He also did a great job cleaning the vault toilets.

We have been coming to Three Creeks Lake every year in August for over 30 years. Like many other places it's getting very popular and now difficult to get a more lengthy stay due to the newish reservation system which only allows you to reserve the 3-4 days around the weekend. This year everyone needed a permit to hike the Tam McArthur Rim trail which was a major surprise for us. We didn't have one....and this is part of our tradition, now with kids and grandkids. All part of getting heavily used I guess - much needed but sad for us old-timers. We were also sad to see that so many camp sites were empty, even though they were reserved. So many people wanting to get a site and not able to - but many sites empty due to no shows. The place is beautiful - bathrooms have been improved the last few years. The road into the Driftwood Campground has needed work for about 20 years but is passable. The lake is small and lovely - great for kayaking and SUPing with children.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
