Moose Creek Flat Campground, Gallatin Gateway, MT

Moose Creek Flat Campground is located in the Bozeman Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest (43 min south of Bozeman, MT) with an elevation of 5,708 feet. There are a total of 14 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the end of September. Max equipment length is 60 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $24.00 to $52.00.

Loved the ability to play or fish in the river. Note, you need to bring your own water. We couldnt find that information until we got to the site, then had to drive back to town to put some in our camper.

There were 4 reserved camping sites that others could have used if you had a good system to reward or make good on people that cancel ahead of the date. But it hardly worth the effort and its overly complicated. Either penalties or rewards would be better than empty sites on a Saturday night. Lame management plan for cancellation policy.

I love this campground. We try to camp at least on e a year. It is close to home and close to Big Sky as well as YNP. This year the lawns were mowed nicely and area well maintained.

Beautiful campsite on the river w/ spotless restroom. Close to the road, but, the sounds of the river covered most of the noise. And Carl, the camp host for the three campgrounds on the Gallatin, helpful, thorough and friendly ... he's a gem.

Had a great time at Moose Creek. The location was perfect. We had a great time and caught fish. We will definitely make this an annual trip.

We had a wonderful time at Moose Creek with our grandkids and great-grandkids. Very clean bathroom and always stocked. Loved the beach on the river that the kids had to play. Yes there was traffic as other complained, but we have a 41' 5th wheel, so this was a perfect place for us. Traffic wasn't that bad. We explored all kinds of areas while we were there for 3 nites. Definitely God's Country!

Beautiful, clean, and spacious camp sites! My family and I enjoyed our stay. We were able to fish and play in the river which ran right beside the camp ground. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They had fire wood for sale at the camp ground also.

It was great to be right on the Galletin River. My husband is a fisherman. While he was fishing right in front of the campground I enjoyed reading my book underneath the pine tree. No mosquitoes which you can imagine how they can ruin the whole experience. We met with many nice people at the campground. The only drawback could be the traffic noise but it was not a big deal for us since we were usually up until the traffic died out. It was a great base for exploring around. We hiked up the lava lake which is about 10 mins drive to the trailhead and drove up to Hyalite lake that is about 50 mins away.

Great sites right on the river. Plenty of space for my 37ft bumper pull. A little bit of road noise, but the river and Mountain View make up for it.

Moose Creek campground is a great place to camp. Very clean, nice open camp spots, friendly camp host. Water hydrant does not work though.

Nice place close to big sky and lots of ATV trails, hiking trails and back country roads. Only issue is the highway noise at night
