Rented out the group campground. It was amazing for seclusion and star gazing. We went in August so it was still pretty hot. I would recommend spring or fall if you you want to do a lot of hiking. Great place to visit, will go back.

Attacked by swarms of bugs, I had to give up camping and return

We loved it all! So close to the trails and so quiet!

Great group site that we had to ourselves for 2 nights. The location is just .75 mile drive to the monument site which is a great place for a day or 2 worth of exploring and hiking. Well maintained trails. Bring hiking boots and a headlamp for any cave/lava tube exploring. It is hot in June but tolerable if you do anything in the morning or evening. We especially loved going into the caves which are cool, dark and damp. The site itself was perfect. Secluded and quiet with potable water and an immaculate pit vault.

Nice group site. Lots of space. The large charcoal grill was a nice surprise. It's located across the highway from the main entrance to the park behind a chained gate, so you'll be living in your own private Idaho.

The campground was exemplary, including the amenities. The staff was really considerate in following up with my calls assistance. I will recommend this to my friends, and hope to return myself!

We stayed in the group campsite, which we had stayed in before. It was extremely windy, but we anticipated that because it was windy last time. The bathroom was very nice...clean and no smell...plenty of TP. The tables were very nice as was the firepit. Everything was wonderful until we drove up to the gate to leave and found that someone had locked the gate. My husband had to walk to the visitors center to get the key, which was alright except that we were under a very tight time schedule. Apparently some, not all employees at the visitors center did not believe that the gate was really locked and questioned that it was. Because of Covid 19, my husband did not get a ride back to the gate which made us even later than we had planned. Suggestion: give the camper a key to the gate in exchange for his drivers license.

For our group of middle school aged kids and parents, the seclusion was PERFECT. The kids could be noisy without disturbing neighbors. I wish we had another night there to hang out and explore more.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
