West Thompson Lake Campground, North Grosvenor Dale, CT

West Thompson Lake Campground in Windham county is located 46 min west of Woonsocket, RI with an elevation of 317 feet. There are a total of 24 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the beginning of September. 11 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 35 and 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. 11 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $15.00 to $30.00.

This was our second stay here, it has become one of our favorite campgrounds. Small and quiet with secluded (especially #1), fairly level, well maintained packed crushed gravel wooded sites. Single loop on a hillside, roughly one side RV sites and the other tent sites. Narrow tree lined gravel road, a little steep but workable for bigger rigs. Pristine bath house with excellent showers. Very nice small playground for the kiddos behind the bath house. The camp hosts (both couples) among the nicest that we have ever had the pleasure to meet. As a side note, this is COE campground is patrolled by rangers several times a day. Earlier this season we spent a week at a much larger COE in AR during which we saw a ranger patrol once, the difference in guest behavior was astounding.

This is a great campground. The sites are private and it is not crowded at all. It was quiet despite being completely full. The bathrooms were clean. We were traveling with a 2 year old and infant. The playground was impressive for a campground with multiple large slides, various climbing options, and a swing set. The staff was very accommodating. Check in was fast and easy.

Love the campground, but we wait all year to come and use the lake. Planned our vacation, came down, and to our disbelief and sadness, they closed the lake for the whole week. Without any notice so we couldn't even cancel in time. Not good.

The camp hosts obviously love their jobs and checkin was easy and friendly. This cg looks fabulous and the patio and landscaping by the front gate is quite cute. This is a campers paradise, quiet, simple. We look forward to being back!

Easy check-in; friendly, informative volunteers who keep the sites beautifully maintained, even raked! The sites are long, wide and well shaded. The campground is in a quiet area but not too far from retail stores if needed. I took off one star for the sketchy dump station which does not have a sealed connection. Just drop your hose in front of the inlet and let 'er rip. The immediate area around the inlet showed evidence of a recent hazardous spill which supports my shock that this setup is allowed anywhere. Even if the state doesn't require a sealed connection, it should be done anyway.

Nice, level pad. No need or leveling blocks. Well maintained and clean. Water and electric hookups very handy. Check out the "Airline Trail - North" for a nice hike.David and Karen, Russ and Val were super camp hosts. They made our stay as first-time RV campers a very pleasurable experience. We will definately return.

Beautiful park! Sites are large and spaced far apart. Staff was A+. Site 7 is very tight for a 40' class A but we managed. We would choose a different site next time. Would definitely return!

Clean, quiet campground with everything you need. Staff is on hand and keep the grounds well groomed and make sure all is in order and the quiet hours are respected. Definitely a welcome relief after some campgrounds weve been to in the past with loud drunken partying at all hours.

Another COE campground we stayed at on our journey to Acadia NP. Having hot shower is definitely a bonus in addition to E/W hookup at the site.
