Horse Heaven Group Campground, Alpine, CA

Horse Heaven Group Campground is located in the Descanso Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest (44 min east of El Cajon, CA) with an elevation of 5,670 feet. There are a total of 3 campsites which are all tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from the end of May to the beginning of September. Max equipment length is 30 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $60.00 to $150.00.

Great amount of space for a large group. I would say the amount allowed is the max that would fit whereas some places often list a small amount allowed where more can fit. The bathrooms were pretty clean and there were 2 sets of 2 equalling 4 toilets. Two water spouts and plenty of isolation.

Upon arrival at Butter Cup we found it somewhat littered and a damaged table bench.

The campground is great. Lot of areas to hike and explore. Beautiful trees. We had a great time. As a positive criticism, I'll say bathrooms have to be remodel. The campgrounds nearby have beautiful bathrooms. This camp doesn't. Also, there should be an overflow parking area. The campsites can accommodate up to 100 people but not enough parking.
