Unreal camping, especially along the lakeside. This place really has it all. Primitive yet well maintained by the host. Highly recommend bringing along mosquito defenses, quality toilet paper, and a shower to use. Most supplies and firewood can be located in nearby Cass Lake (campsite hosts no longer sell wood).

The sites are full of poison Ivy which was hard to work around. Liked the area lots tho. Our camp host had visitors that were a bit sketchy at the campground.

We love camping here because the sits are so close to the lake and its such a beautiful area! We like going to Walker and looking around in the shops and they have some great restaurants. The trails are nice to walk or bike on too!

A beautiful campground ruined by loud generators. Because it's a rustic, non-power campground, there is almost always someone nearby in a camper with an extremely loud generator running all day. If you are one of those people, can you PLEASE stop ruining others' nature and upgrade to a more quiet generator for your campground use? Or better yet, use it less or not at all. More than once we have had our weekend almost ruined by being right next door to one while the people sat in their camper all day.This was my favorite campground and we come back every summer, but really wish there was something that could be done about excessively loud generators.

This is our most favorite campsite to go to. Its close to home, nice sandy beach and affordable. The sites are always clean and the camp host is always friendly and easy to chat with.

This is a very nice campground with lots of shade and a great bike trail. Using solar is not possible.

Our campsite was very well taken care of and maintained. The bathrooms were always clean. Campground was quiet and very peaceful. Swimming was excellent!

Beautiful forest and nice campsite but way too many barking dogs and several boats w/pickup trucks parked on campground road are an eyesore.

Love this campground, nice sandy beaches and very basic. My only wish would be that generators not be allowed.

I have been camping at South Pike Bay Campground over 60 years. The lake is pristine and offers amazing sunsets. The only negative is that the forestry department does not offer wood to purchase anymore. Also, some campers run their generators all day long. I will continue to visit this back to nature site with my friends and family as long as I can.

The mosquitoes were unbearable. In addition, the host seemed to do little except ride around on a lawn mower and the dumpster was running over. The location is ok, but there is a forest service campground in the Norway Beach Recreation Area nearby that is nicer and has electricity.

Been coming to Pike Bay for the last 45 years. My parents brought me there every year as a child I’ve brought my children now we bring our grandchildren. The campground is always clean and neat. Mike Shaffer the campground host is the nicest friendliest host ever. We return each year not just for the beautiful campground but because of Mike. He is like family to us. He makes us feel so welcome he always stops by for a chat and to see if there’s anything we need. He is the best. We will continue to come each year as long as Mike is the host. He mows as soon as people leave keeps the campground spotless the bathrooms cleaned every morning before we awake. We look forward to another 2 week stay next year so does my son and my grandchildren and my brother. We love getting spots 3,5 & 7 so we are near Mike the host. Thank you to the forest service who is always friendly and to Mike Shaffer for all his hard work and making us feel so welcome like family.

The campground and restrooms were very clean, and the Migizi bike trail was beautiful. Our only complaint was noisy neighbors next door on our last night at the facility, who kept us awake until 3:00 AM. It would help if the campground host made the rounds periodically, at least until midnight.

Been coming here for 10 years and am convinced this place is a hidden gem. Many spots lakeside that can be set up in a way that gives you total privacy. Big spots and beautiful.

Forest camping on a beautiful lake. Campground is well off the main roads, but campsites and paved camp roads are in great condition. Campground is perfectly situated on the south end of the lake, and offers a good boat launch for power boats. Several campers had beached their boats in easy access to their campsite.

Beautiful sites with some on the lake the road into the campground was the only thing to complain about need to improve the gravel-washboard road

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
