This is a beautiful campground! There is no power & very little Verizon coverage, but overall a unique and restful stay. We have a 33' 5th wheel and we did not have any problems. The sunsets were amazing! James is the campground host and is very friendly and helpful. I was sad to leave.

Great campground! Campsite did not have water access, but beside that it was incredible! We will be back :)

Camp host was very friendly and accommodating. Sites were cleaned and well maintained. A great family friendly campground. We will be returning to this campground in the future.

Camp host, James Shoemaker, was exemplary! He was helpful, kind, and very friendly. The outhouses were always clean and well stocked. The whole campground was kept neat. I had battery trouble with my truck, and he was quickly there with his tools to help. He then kindly offered his jeep for me to drive to town to get another battery. He was outstanding as a camp host.

The campground was easy to find, and the campsite was nice and roomy, as expected. The restrooms were clean. The little lake was scenic, although we didn't get a chance to use it. There is not a swimming beach at this campground. The neighbors had a bright light on their food table that was shining into our site, prompting this reminder to campers to please be aware of where your lights are shining, especially after 10 p.m. It was a lovely campsite, as are most in the National Forest. We enjoyed our stay.

Fairly quiet relaxing week in the North woods.

We were camping for four nights. Our site had a nice view of the water, but no water access. The Deer Flies were horrendous, but that is what you have to deal with when remote camping near water in the mid-summer. Other campers during our stay were very noisy. The experience was not what we expected and certainly not what we have experienced at other remote National Forest Campgrounds.

Fairly nice campground with a few of the sites directly on the water with their own access points for canoes and kayaks. There is some odd wind-driven 'thing' in the middle of the lake with no information as to what it is posted anywhere. There were a pair of loons nesting on the lake that serenade you to peace, and don't seem too spooked by people as they would swim to within a few feet of my yak. I spent hours on the lake in my kayak fishing over the course of two days and only caught one small largemouth, although I did see several dead lake trout floating on the surface. According to my sonar, the lake has a max depth of about 19', but is mostly around 5-8'. If you are coming from the south or east, the town of Park Falls has a big self-serve firewood location a few blocks east of the Kwik Trip off of 9th/Highway E where you can get enough firewood for a solid week for only 20 bucks as long as you are willing to split some of the bigger logs yourself and have the space to transport it, otherwise they sell the traditional 5 bucks a bundle firewood as well. However the $20 package is roughly equivalent to about 8 bundles of the 'campfire' bundles. Overall it was a decent campground, but there isnt much to do besides the single hiking trail or fishing, and the fishing isn't that great. Our family all agreed that it was okay, but we probably wont go back. If all you want to do is go out and relax with a book by the campfire and hear the loons and frogs, you'll likely enjoy this area as long as you bring enough bug spray and fogger.

Such a beautiful place and since it is a small campground it was very quiet as we stayed during the week. Only thing that kept me from 5 stars was the mosquitos were awful! Otherwise though its a great place to camp. Water view spots are nice.

We just bought a motor home so this dry camping was a test to see how it would go. What a great place. Supper quick and beautiful. I could go on for hours. Can’t wait to go back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
