Nice campground, well maintained. Water is not potable due to high magnesium levels so bring your own.

Great location easy access to lake

The campground and sites are wonderful, not cramped together with good size sites. Only accessible by dirt road and the lake itself (Moose Lake) is nothing special, very dirty water and the fishing is not great.

The water at this campground is contaminated. It is from a hand pump well that has toxic levels of manganese. The manganese levels can lead to kidney failure according to the sign posted there by the health department. This should be listed on the campground information on the website. The sign that is posted says do not use the water for infants or if you are over 50 (which I am). There were no other water sources available. Bring your own water.

Beautiful campground and beautiful lake. The campground was quite and peaceful. We had a great time and enjoyed how small the campground is. We will definitely be back!!

Lots of mosquitos but well worth it. We saw 3 baby moose. Black Lake Trail was nice and Clam Lake Groceries was about 10 miles away with diesel.

Nice and quiet camping spot. Bathrooms were clean, water hydrant wasn't too far of a walk and the beach and boat ramp were well kept. Mosquitoes weren't too bad but bug spray would be advised. Quite the drive down gravel roads to get there but well worth it. Will be making plans to return again.

Quiet and clean campground. Nestled in nicely among the trees with good spacing between each camper/tent. Bathrooms are very clean. Recommend.

Beautiful, private site. Loons made the nighttime magical.

Stayed on site 4 which had plenty of space for the RV and a great little path down to the water. The small sandy beach was perfect for swimming and launching my paddleboard and fishing in the evening. Lots of downed logs in the water so use floating bait or you will lose it! The actual labeled beach area was terrible. The walk down was nice but the area was heavily littered with goose droppings. The beach had washed up leaves and was basically unusable. I was content with the shoreline at my camp. There is a lot of boat noise on the lake as it is half out of the CNNF or at least has many private homes on it. That is pretty normal for the area I guess. I only heard loons once on the lake and I suspect that is the reason. Overall it was a great park, bring your bug protection etc.

Sites were clean, but there is no firewood to purchase. When booking the website said not to bring firewood, so we didn't bring any. Then there was no where listed that we could buy some close by.

Very little tree canopy at most sites. The restrooms were clean but the flies were terrible. Hardly anyone around during the week, but the weekend was crowded. Cell signal was sufficient.

We were on site 2 at Moose Lake. It was a very nice view of the lake. About the only trouble we had putting our 18' travel trailer on the site was it was steeper than we thought from the pictures but that wasn't too bad. If the fire pit would have been placed differently, it would have been much easier to put our trailer in a very nice spot with a view of the lake.

We were so surprised to experience the beauty of the Cheuamegon National Forest. It’s only a few hours from the Twin Cities and we felt like we were way up north. The campground is small, private and well maintained. The dirt road in is in great shape and we saw so much wildlife (but not any elk or moose). We loved this area so much that we booked a cabin on Moose Lake for Thanksgiving. The forest offers hiking trails galore and Moose Lake is big enough for all water sports, yet private enough in spots to hide away in a kayak. I hope WI keeps this forest pristine and undeveloped. It’s a true gem and the camping was so peaceful. The campground has direct access to the lake if you have any water devices.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
