Kentuck Lake Campground, Eagle River, WI

Kentuck Lake Campground is located in the Eagle River-Florence Ranger District, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (1 hr 49 min northeast of Wausau, WI) with an elevation of 1,729 feet. There are a total of 31 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to the beginning of December. 29 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 25 and 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 2 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $15.00 to $18.00. Some amenities include boat ramp. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Had an amazing time at Kentuck Lake. Camp Host Maggie was wonderful! Everything was clean and well cared for. Will definitely go again!!!

We love going to this campground and the host is great. My only complaint is that they charge more or sites on the lake side but site 5 is the only one with boat access. If im being charged extra for a site on the water I would like to atleast have access to it where we can park the boat in the water.

Both rooms and sites were very well taken care of. We were there in June and the bathrooms were not cared for at all. It was really nice in July it was almost like a regular bathroom it was so clean, smelled good also!

Everything was great except I have a problem with the generator policy. The hours are to long 6 in the morning till 10 at night is to much in my opinion. My neighbor started his at 7 in the morning every morning and it would wake me up they would also run it till after 10 at night. I go camping to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. I think the policy should be the same as the state is 10am to 5pm. If you need electricity that much then go camp where they have electrical hook ups.

Camp Ground Host was great very helpful. Camp ground was clean and bathrooms were cleaned daily.

I had reserved this site about 7 months in advance; the reservation system was easy to use and we received follow up emails regarding at appropriate times prior to the camp date. The camp was easy to find, good directions and the individual sites well marked. When we arrived we found the campsite was extremely clean. Aside from some noisy kids into the late evening, the whole place got real quiet at 10 PM. Overall it was an excellent spot that we would visit again and stay longer!

With big party camping next to us, not as quiet as desired. Shared steps to lake not a positive, but access to water was pretty easy. Would prefer more vegetation between campsites, yet overall USFS campsites are far superior to state ones. We will wait until after August 15 to see if we can find a waterfront walk-in campsite at Franklin Lake.

I booked my site on Jan. 10 2021 payed for a lake site. When i arrived there were 2 boats in my lake site neither one payed for a lake site. I had to wait till mid week to get my boat where i wanted it. I have camped at this place many times at a off lake site i always put my boat in the water and took it out the same day sometimes twice Not happy.

Everything was good. Would be nice if the water on the top of the hill campsites was in working order. Otherwise it was good camping.
