Everything was as it should be. Nice area, fishing could have been better and while we were stayed one of the mines was putting in a pipline 300 yards from the guard station so it was a bit noise. I'm sure it will be done soon. Plenty of TP for the pity toilet. Could have had a better stock pile of fire wood but we foraged around near the GS. Didn't need a fire inside the cabin as it stayed pretty cool during the day and warm at night.

Couldn't get to the Cabin as of may 5th due to snow. Drifts were too spaced for reasonable snow mobile or nordic ski use as well. Would have needed to snow shoes. I would shoot for earlier in the year for skiing/snow mobile (snow machine if yer in idaho), or late may if you intend on driving a 4x4 rig. Bring traction boards and recovery gear.

Quirky cabin was fun to stay in, nice tables, fire pit, wood supply and general arrangement, we had a great time overall and highly recommend it. The airflow inside is not great, in part inherent to an A frame, and partially because the screens are pretty beat up and patched with tape, but we had nice weather and it cooled off at night so it was okay. We had a few issues mostly related to previous occupants: We had bad flies in the toilet because a prior user left the lid up. Please close the lid! We carried out about three times as much trash from others as ourselves, and the toilet was really dirty. So please do bring and use some cleaning supplies. I recommend something like a swifter wet wipe or extra water to mop the floors, and maybe some glass cleaner for the windows.

Lots of flies if we had more people some beds were not sleep worthy due to flies. Location wood and outdoor stuff is fantastic. Wood burning stove can easily overheat the building I recommend a very conservative approach to firewood.

The location is excellent, and the cabin itself is nice. The grounds are excellent. Nice picnic tables, nice firepit, nice charcoal grill, nice vault toilet. The flies, however, were truly terrible. Part of the problem was that is was starting to get cold, so all flies from around the area were trying to seek shelter in the cabin. The screens were not quite adequate to keep them out. There are many fly traps, but they would quickly fill up with fly corpses and then become useless. At night they were quiet, so that was a plus, but during the day they were very loud. They left us alone for the most part and didn't get into any food. That was good. But if you hate flies, then you might want to come early in the season. Otherwise, this is a really fun cabin in a truly nice location. I would definitely stay here again, regardless of the flies.

Site generally clean, wood readily available for internal fireplace and fire pit. Screens could be replaced or repaired to allow for better airflow. Priced right. Had a great time. Would use again.

So much house-fly discharge on the window that you can't see through it (upstairs, both ends). The cabin was unlocked when we arrived, it was obvious someone had been using it.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
