We stayed in site 3. It was a perfect spot for a tent (6-person). It was a bit overgrown with foliage, but nothing too bad. Simple site with a large fire pit and a small ground level 'bbq' which was really just a grate with a spot under to put wood. Access to the river, but since it was full/flowing, couldn't actually get in. Would definitely go back.

This is a beautiful small campground, best suited for tent or car camping. If you are pulling an RV use caution. The turn around loop at the end of the campground may have camper's vehicles parked blocking the road. We watched several trucks pulling RV's that had to back all the way down the road and over the bridge. The campground may say it accommodates a certain length, RV but there is very little room for the tow vehicle, if any.

Absolutely revolting toilets, and not once did we see the so-called camp host during our entire 4-day stay. Our campsite was a disaster zone, littered with branches and felled trees everywhere. To make matters worse, while we were around the campfire, a massive tree crashed down just 15 feet from where we were sitting. This place is a ticking time bomb, and its only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injuredor worse. Avoid this death trap at all costs.

Disgusting toilets, we never saw the camp host in 4 days, and the campsite we had was littered with branches and felled trees. While we sat around the campfire a large tree actually fell and landed 15 feet away from where we were. This campsite is not safe, miss it entirely

The toilets were utterly disgusting, and in 4 days, the camp host was completely MIA. Our campsite was strewn with dangerous debris, including branches and downed trees. Its no exaggeration to say our lives were at riskwhile sitting by the campfire, a huge tree came crashing down just 15 feet from us. This campground is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you value your safety, steer clear of this hazardous, poorly managed site.

Site 6We went the first week of August 2024, it was hot for the 3 day, 2 night stay we had 100* in the heat of the day and 60* at night. We took our family and had 12 total (10 kids, 4-21)...my mom and sister came up the the second day and we had booked site 7 for them... unfortunately the person that stayed their the 1st night didn't leave. So we ended up talking with the Campground Host that was up at Willow Flates 4 miles further up and head had us take Site 5 instead. 5 and 6 make for a good combined campground. We ended up.having 2 ten person tents, a four man, 2 two person,and single man tent in total. The Potty Monster was across the road and close as well as working water. The Potty Monster was not very clean by our site, but the one by the entrance was good. Between sites 6-7 is an ease way to the pedestrian bridge that goes over the cub river to the extra parking at the front of the campground. This did have others coming through occasionally. The river access was nice, the water was cold, deep, and moving pretty fast. Be careful with kids and dogs they can get carried away. We had plenty of room overall. We did have to dig out the firepit and dumped it in the trash cans that are up by the entrance to the campground. Cornlilly is present in Site 7 and around the area spuratically (it is toxic), and was also a bit muddy. There are definitely signs that the area can flood out... probably more likely in the early season. The biting fries were few as were many of the biting bugs...there were wooly caterpillars, and big black beatles with long annteni and these can bite but not if you are careful. The parking spot for 6 was a good size, we could have got our full size van and 3 cars in tightly. Easy to get to and easy to find, it was a nice quiet stay and we enjoyed it very much. 6 is a great site for a larger family.

Beautiful campground next to the cub river. A lot of shade and a great location!

Stayed in spot 8, very large picnic table (approx12-16 ft long), large area for multiple tents. Slightly muddy, but expected with the weather. Right next to the river, 2 spots to go down and sit by the water. River was very high during our stay and the river was quite loud. Good to drown out any traffic or neighbors. Will be back :)

We love this site! It is back from the road, but close to the bathroom. My kids enjoyed soaking their feet in the river that runs by it.

I camped at site 2 in mid-June 2023. The site is right on the river, as all sites in this campground appear to be. It was running fast, high and cold. If you're with kids, be sure to keep a very close eye on them! There is a narrow, muddy path, maybe 50 feet, between the parking space and the campsite, which got very slick after it rained, but provided a lot of privacy. This site is very close to the water spigot and outhouse, but in warmer weather, it might be close enough to smell the outhouse. The sound of the river drowned out all noise from other campers and all but the most aggressive ATVs going by on the road. A wander around the campground showed that the sites are well-spaced, and most have a good deal of privacy as well. A few downsides, previous campers left a ton of trash in the site, including pallets full of nails. I cleaned up as much as I could, but wish people would be more respectful. The fire ring is nice and big, but could use the ashes cleared out and the surrounding trees trimmed. Leaves on the closet tree were scorched. Also the reservation cards weren't updated, but luckily no one snagged my spot before I arrived late on the Saturday.

The site was was totally inaccessible. There was hardly any room to park the car and we drove a Camry. The site was completely flooded, with 3-6 inches of water engulfing the entire site. The camp hosts did not warn us, so we drove all the way up there to find no place to camp. Wish I could give a no star rating.

The campground is very nice. However, when we arrived at our camp site, it was flooded out. Totally understandable with the high river flow at this time.

Used to LOVE this campground. It is still for tents and it can be reserved. But now the Forest Service think it is okay to let cows roam free IN THE CAMPGROUND and you know what follows cows. Cowpies and the flies that are attracted to them. Some of the cows are getting quite used to people and dogs and at some point someone or an animal is going to get hurt. Seems to me the Forest Service is double dipping. They get money from the people leasing th campground and the cattle owners. The losers are the campers who PAY to camp in a campground instead of a cow pasture. It is just plain wrong.

Site 7 has a small gravel pad that will fit a small trailer no longer than 20 foot overall and you will have to park your vehicle in the parking lot but is easily accessible through campsite 6. This site is not very shaded but is very pretty and the river runs through the back of the site but is a little further away than some of the other sites so people with small children may prefer this location.
@RussellR822636 · Camped on Jul 6, 2022 at Campsite #8
Beautiful double site wit wide pad. Maximum trailer length this would fit is 22 foot overall. You can park your vehicle parallel to your trailer if you don’t have an awning. Site is well shaded, and has an extra long picnic table. The river runs through the back of the site and has a large area for a couple of tents.
@RussellR822636 · Camped on Jul 6, 2022 at Campsite #9
Site 9 is beautiful. Plenty of space for a tent. For people with an RV, this spot will fit up to a 22 foot trailer but at that size you will need to park your vehicle in the parking lot which has easy access to the campsite over the bridge and through site 6. Smaller trailers can fit both the vehicle and trailer when parked perpendicularly. The river runs through this site, and it is well shaded with plenty of trees for hammocks. Note: there is a trail head that starts at this campsite so you will get bikers/horseback riders coming through there. Other than that it is pretty private and peaceful.

Upon arriving to our site it was unmanageable and difficult for older people what's limitations for questionable footing.
@JohnB514 · Camped on Aug 19, 2021 at Campsite #3
The site says that the spaces will fit a 25 foot trailer. We arrived to find that they wouldnt fit more than a tent. we had to go somewhere else. Tried to get a refund to no avail. Please adjust your site parameters

My campsite was beautiful, right next to the river in a shady spot. So cute! However , there’s too many ATV’s in the area, making it a little noisy, also some cow had gastrointestinal problems right there, in my camping spot, lots of cow poo 😒

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
