Beautiful campsite there's a few cons:-There are 27 steps you have to take up to get to your campsite. It was exhausting. If you're camping here I'd pack light unless you're in really good shape.- Also the bathrooms and the water spickets are down the stairs too.-The bear activity is no joke. Around 4am a bear got into the dumpster and We had a bear come through our campsite and get into all of our stuff even though we didn't have any food out. We had to flee our tent because the bear was so close to our tent-It was nice to be close to the water but you have to cross the busy 89 to get to it. There is some highway noise. Just things to consider before camping here. Pros: -The scenery was gorgeous the sunrise was unreal. -It is easy to get to the day use area that has picnic tables and benches -easy beach access-no generator noise

Stayed in site 5 and honestly loved it! Right across the street from the lake and a public access dock. Lots of spots to get in the water and also right next to a long biking/walking path. Sure, had to carry stuff up stairs to the site but there is also a path which I found easier. Only one bathroom below but it was kept clean. I would stay again. Site 4 looked great and semi secluded too.

Sites 1-3 are right next to the busy road, you could throw a rock and hit cars. Sites 4-8 are at the top of a long flight of stairs and are all next to each other. We had #8 for a couple nights and there was a neighboring tent set up right over the path to our camp. Luckily, the other folks were quiet at night and didn't party. Water/bathroom is back down the stairs in the parking lot...would consider this campsite "dry". Be prepared to carry water across a parking lot and up a couple flights of stairs. It's a "walk-in" camp location, but quite overpriced for the inconvenience of lugging all your stuff up a hill to camp right next to strangers. Site 9 is probably the best as it sits further back and isn't surrounded by other campers, but it is the furthest to walk to. Lake access across the road is limited to small, rocky alcoves. Seems like you could camp in your vehicle on the nearby access road, but I guess this camp is "ok" if you can't find any other local options. Good things about the campground? The camp host (this year) was nice, the bathrooms were clean, and there was a dumpster.

Spend 5 days this last week with my family. It was a beautiful experience. The lake sight is breathtaking

Pros:- Perfect views of Tahoe lake.- Excellent location.- Very spacious campgrounds.- Clean facilities.Cons:- Very dusty soil.- A bear visited the camp every night and even one time got inside an unlocked car. No damage was made though.

The campground is in the woods which is nice. We had a nice view of the lake. Nearby is a pier on the lake. The facilities are basic but this was sufficient for us.

This is a great campground in a quiet area on the westside of the lake. The camp hosts are extremely friendly and there is ample parking with clean bathroom access. They have secure bear boxes and very clean/roomy campsites. I loved waking up to the towering old growth trees and lake views. In the Fall, you'll have a great view of the moon over the lake when you walk across the road. There's a picnic table and bench to sit and relax - enjoy a meal by the lake. The campsites also have a great big picnic table for all your fine cuisine needs. If you need to gas up or run to the grocery, Tahoe City is very close by. There's also a market nearby with an amazing coffee shop and eco-friendly essentials. Highly recommend!

The campground is very nice, although the walk up the 27 stairs was a haul with our gear. This is also something to keep in mind if you need to use the restroom during the night.

Nice location, VERY close to the lake, though this also means very close to the road. We were in space 8 which meant hauling all our gear up the stairs and back a ways. It was kind of sloped and with the road noise, not the best sleep. Super friendly host and great location for exploring Lake Tahoe.We did see a momma bear and cub trying to get in our car at the parking lot. Take bear precautions seriously.

Great place to camp! It is right next to the road, so you get that noise. But it is a small campground, so it doesn't get very crowded. And you can see the lake from camp (at least where we stayed - site #1). There is a dock you can walk out onto the lake, which was nice for stargazing at night and sunrise. The camp has everything you need - bear box, fire pit, and picnic table. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We did see a bear come through many camps looking for food. The hosts came by right away telling us to put food away and trying to scare it off with airhorns. That was exciting! But remember to use the bear box! Bathrooms were clean, and there is a sink and flush toilet in one. Not a far walk to site 1 from the parking lot.

nice campground, but keep in mind that parking is difficult, you cant park next to your campsite theres a parking lot, if you are in campsite 1-3 its easier, but if youre in any other site you have to go up steep stairs & then a steep incline, so expect a workout carrying heavy loads equipment up & down & even just walking yourself. other then that the campsite has a great view & a little beach across the street. camp host and other campers are great & the bathroom is nice & kept up with & had cell service (i use at&t)

This campground has an amazing view of the lake, definitely a highlight. The campsites are big and there are only 9 of them, so it never feels crowded. The staff was really friendly. It is pretty close to the highway so the traffic noise wasn't great, just bring some earplugs!
@NickM4938843 · Camped on Oct 7, 2022 at Campsite #5
There was a bear that had almost no fear of humans who prowled the campground most of the evening. Unfortunately, it has a keen awareness that food left out by humans made us a food source. This bear should be relocated.
@TaylorB7814498 · Camped on Aug 28, 2022 at Campsite #7
The only downside here is a big flight of stairs that you'll have to carry everything up! But they're nice sites in a small campground right above the lake
@BrianT1694442 · Camped on Aug 28, 2022 at Campsite #8
I stayed at Site 8 for two nights. It was a great experience. It was a small walk to my site from the parking lot but it was up a set of stairs and straight uphill. The bathrooms were immaculately clean! It was a great getaway stay at Tahoe!

Great campground!!!! My wife and I come here every year for our anniversary. It’s a very short walk to the shore, far away from the crowds, and with only ten sites it never feels like a camptopia experience. There are no rv hookups so there’s never any generator noise. This year our camp hosts Michelle and Rick were absolute gems and we are hoping to see them again! 2 things to keep in mind though: First, there are bears. They are smart SOBs too. Don’t be stupid. Never, ever leave your food or trash out! This includes coolers and even toothpaste. If you let your guard down for even five minutes, they will come, you’ll be upset, and they will keep coming back to YOUR camp. If this makes you uncomfortable, maybe look for a different campground. Second, if you book any site except 1,2, or 3 you are going to have a steep walk uphill to get to your site and if you aren’t in great shape or aren’t used to the thin air you’ll be cursing the stairway in no time. Try to bring the bare minimum. For me personally, these two things are what I like about Kaspian, but for others it might be something to consider. Ps The star gazing in the parking lot at nighttime is unreal.

No shade, no water, lots of dust, no flat space for a tent, no host at the campground. Next to the busy road, steep climb up from the parking lot. Decided not to stay for the night. I can't believe they sell it.

As always, Love Kaspian Campgrounds. Close to lake, clean, and quiet. Host does good job on daily cleaning of facilities. City trash didn't come by so the garbage bin was overflowing

Amazing experience. Love that we were camping right in front of the lake and was able to see the sunrise. Beautiful time with the family.

As always, Kaspian campground was both so beautiful and very well managed by the hosts this year! It's definitely my favorite site for tent camping and riding my bike on the canyon right behind it! Fair warning to anyone camping there though, there is a lot of bear activity in the area and the hosts do a great job managing it but please make sure to use the bear bin in each site to avoid any activity near your tent!

I never checked in due to poor air quality during that time from local fires. I am a big fan of Camp Kaspian and will stay there again in the future.

Beautiful campsite! Clean bathroom. Friendly and helpful camphost. We enjoyed the bike path along the lake.
@LetyE240 · Camped on Aug 9, 2021 at Campsite #1
We enjoyed this spot because it was a one night stay (8pm-7am), however not sure I would feel the same if it were for longer. Although walking distance from the water and a short drive into surrounding towns, Campsites are 10 ft from the road.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
