Quiet, private-feeling campsite in the aspens. Site was tidy. Tent pad was not adequate for our 1010 tent. Vault restroom was in good condition. This campsite is well off the beaten path, and lacked potable water and cell service.

Stunning shady pull thru site 15 50ft up from beach. Nr pit toilets, no smell

Beautiful and spacious campsite. There's a nice beach perfect to go for a swim or watch the sunset

We ended up leaving a day early. Site was not designed for a tent. Very ROUGH road to get there

Perfect camping spot. Beautiful view of the lake. Restroom was clean and stocked. This area is beautiful! We fished close to the boat dock. There was plenty of space.

The camp hosts were wonderful and friendly. The site was nice and quiet. The vault toilets were extremely clean and bug free, a rarity. The two things that kept this from becoming a 5 star was the absence of trash cans and water and the steep descent to the lake. Of course the trash/water was listed on recreation.gov, but it wouldn’t take much for that to be provided.

A gorgeous, off-the-beaten-path campground, with sites overlooking New Fork Lake and surrounded by aspens. Not suitable for big rigs as road is very narrow with lots of significant potholes.

There is no longer any water available at either campground and the garbage dumpster that used to be near the group site is also gone. But if you are fully self contained, it is a nice spot. The flies at this time of year were horrific.

This campground has so much potential. Pros: this campground is absolutely lovely, lots of beautiful wildflowers and shimmering trees; the lake is stunning and full of fish. Cons: there is no way to reach the lake without tramping through the forest (no walking trails at all). Also, this campground is down a 2 or 3-mile long, very bumpy, not maintained dirt road (where I'm from we called this a driveway; there was no sign that any road scraping has been done here.) Additionally, there is/was no camp host for Summer 2020, making the campground a free-for-all for squatters. Unfortunately there was a very angry man and his dog at the campsite I reserved and he said "you'll have to call the US Marshalls to get me off this campsite" and referred repeatedly to his cache of guns in his vehicle. Of course we drove down the road and found another unclaimed site, but there was no way we could communicate with the host or Recreation.gov for help. Additionally, there was no maintenance for the restroom since there was no camp host; it was also not clear to me that there would be no trash pick-up/receptacles at this campground. Another camper we met during our trip also warned us that the man at our campsite had driven his truck past our *new* campsite several times, displaying stalking behavior. We were like sitting ducks and it was terrifying. While that was out of control of Recreation.gov, I would warn against keeping remote campgrounds open without a camp host - to avoid situations like this. There were clearly many people at this campground who felt it was their "right" to be there.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
