Great cabin. Clean and comfortable. My kids loved the board games that were at the cabin. Fun place, with lots of fun things to do around it.

This is second time we stayed here. It is a convenient location on the way to the west. Angela from the Big Piney Ranger District is always very responsive and eager to help. The cabin was very clean when we arrived and we left it as it was when we left. The AT&T cell service is available by the gate. Although it didn't bother me much, my husband complained about fresh cow dung every where in the yard. We had to be extremely careful not to step on them when we build a camp fire in the fire pit. They did not exist when we stayed here last year about the same time.

Wonderful little cabin with electricity and running water. There is a cute pub and restaurant about a mile from the cabin. Must see Granite Falls and Hot Springs!

Clean and well kept, with a tile floor, electric lights and stove, microwave and toaster. Quite a ways off the road, although you can still hear the traffic. I never got cellphone coverage, but I found in the evening if I walked down to the gate I would have it. (Verizon, Aug 18)

Cabin was clean when we arrived on 8/10/2021. We cleaned and left as clean as when we arrived. We found boxes of very good new pots and pans, utensils and new mattresses when we arrived the 2nd time on 8/12. We didn’t open the boxes except the kitchen sink set to use while left the other boxes untouched. Future visitors will enjoy those new stuff and mattresses. We camped near by Granite Campground on 8/11. Beautiful Granite water falls and hot springs are must-see destinations. In addition, there are many interesting and information reading materials in the cabin. We had difficulty to open the gate lock at first. It was comforting to know that Ashton Greene is always there to answer questions and willing to help.

This is a great cabin to spend a weekend. It's relatively secluded and it has every amenity you could need. The only thing that was an issue is that all the paperwork we received stated that this cabin had drinking water available during the summer months, but when we arrived all the taps said that the water had not been tested and was consider non-potable. So we had to go out and buy a bunch of water. Other than that, this place was comfortable for four adults and one child.

This was our first time elk hunting in the area. The guard station was in a good location and a great place to stay. This is a rustic cabin experience, just what we were looking for. Our stay was after Labor Day so the water was turned off. No problem, we planned ahead. It got cold but the heater in the cabin kept us warm, even too warm. I would recommend and stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hoback Guard Station. There were a number of activities and sites to visit within reasonable driving distance. We are going to try to reserve the cabin again this summer.

The cabin was clean and had a nice assortment of items already available. Easy access. secluded, except for a seasonal worker who was painting nearby. Great area to hike or bird watch.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
