The cabin was adequate for shelter. The wood stove is actually a wood cooking stove, in the kitchen. It wasnt what we expected for sure. It did a decent job of warming up the cabin though. There was no firewood in either of the wood boxes in the cabin and it just rained so all the wood outside was wet. The road getting to the cabin was so much worse than we imagined. So bad, in fact, that we will never go there again. Its great for atvs, but horrible for a vehicle (including a 4x4 diesel truck!).

Had a good stay in this basic cabin. Good thing the wood stove in the kitchen puts out some heat since dropped to about freezing each night. Bummer the sink drain doesnt work. Place was relatively clean as was the bathroom across the road. Place sleeps 4 at best unless someone's sleeping on the floor.

The cabin's probably great, but couldn't get to it (needed a high clearance vehicle for the last ~6 miles)...so spent 5 hours driving (round-trip) to end up spending the night back at home.

The cabin actually sleeps 4, and that’s only if you count the sofa covered with matted dog hair. Disgusting. We slept on the floor instead. (The USFS must’ve been counting the BROKEN cots piled in the corner when they claimed it sleeps 6.)

Above the smoke, cool, isolated and very comfortable.

We arrived in a torrential rain storm, but the cabin kept us comfortable. Great place! We learned that cooking on the wood stove is not so easy, but it worked. Better cooking over campfire in fire ring. The nearby pump was inoperable so we had to haul water from another camp ground. Cleaned as best we could without running water. The fish weren’t biting that day but Overall a fun time.. Will bring our own water next time.

Beautiful spot, wild flowers everywhere, from excellent fishing..... Next to last day, Hugh group of 20 people camped just outside the gate and where come by into the area and using the restroom at all hours Till 3am hooting by an yelling as the we’re using the can??? Nice up till then boy.... The use of remote camping should not be allowed so close to the cabin. Which the forest guy there allowed them to be there????????

We love this spot! We’ve come here twice and it’s always a fun trip. We appreciate the gate that keeps the ATVers at a distance and the stargazing is wonderful. Bring mosquito spray if you visit the lakes :)

Mid September stay. The Cabin was perfect. Cozy and comfortable. It was nice to be in a nice warm dry cabin when we woke up to two inches of fresh snow. My tent camping relatives were not as comfortable!

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
