Sheridan North Cove Grp Cg Campground is located in the Mystic Ranger District of the Black Hills National Forest (33 min west of Rapid City, SD) with an elevation of 4,669 feet. There are a total of 5 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid September. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $60.00 to $192.00.

This side of the camp offers great access to the marina and to the Centennial trail. The Beaver camp site was great for our group of 25.

We tent-camped at Beaver in late July. Temps were very warm during the day but nice and cool in the evening. Three non-electric group campsites share a parking lot, and one of the other groups had generators running all day long during permitted hours. I know it's permitted, but it ruins the camping experience for everyone else. Also, Centennial trail runs through Beaver so it's not private; expect hikers or mountain bikers at any time. And it's next to the highway and a rumble strip, so expect traffic noise as well. We cut our stay down from 3 nights to 2 because it wasn't enjoyable for us; had we also been in RVs with our generator on it wouldn't have been a big deal. If you want to tent camp here in the summer, I suggest booking all 3 sites so you don't risk it. On the plus side, it's close to Sheridan Lake beach, it's centrally located in the Black Hills so you can explore more of the area and come back to camp at night, the hosts were very friendly, and the mountains are beautiful.

The campground has plenty to offer families with young children. The hosts, Tamora and Josh are exceptionally friendly and helpful and keep the place clean and quiet. We recommend seeing Crazy Horse monument, Mt Rushmore at night, and Custer State Park. Go slow and see all the wonderful views

Great place for a group camp site. Good water and not very many other campers near us at the time. Being close to the lake is also great for a swim on a hot summers day.

Such a lovely campsite with a view of the lake! Grills were convenient to use, the bathroom facilities were clean, and there was plenty of parking space. The camp hostess was so sweet and made our visit delightful. We love this location and hope to return each year.
