Lovely campground with paved roads, clean vault toilets, available water, friendly campground hosts, and an adjacent commercial hot springs. Whats not to love??? It got busier on the weekend, only to be expected on Labor Day long weekend, but the other campers were friendly too. There are also some nearby USFS roads that lead to various trails, so we rode our e-bikes up a few of those one day. I would camp there again!

This campsite is beautiful. I was skeptical taking the dirt road off the highway to get down there, but it is really gorgeous. It is a small campsite and was insanely quiet when I was there. There is a tiny stream that flows through that I could hear all night. It was also the darkest campsite at night I have ever been to. It is surrounded by woods/wilderness so bring your bear spray and mosquito repellant, but I didn't have any issues. I never met the camp hosts, and we were in a no burn time so no fires, adding to the pitch black and quiet. There was rain the night I stayed making for perfect sleeping weather. I will definitely try to get back this way and recommend this site to anyone making a long trip that might be close by. It's pretty isolated and I am not sure what there is to do nearby, but there were hot springs sharing some ground so it would literally be the perfect place to stop on a really long trip to soak and then sleep. I can imagine a campfire could have only made it better but it would have been irresponsible to have one on this trip and I was happy the hosts enforced that.

This campground is shady and green. Our site #8 was shady and spacious enough for our 30' TT. Our tires were against the parking bumper, and the rear of the trailer hung over. After leveling, our rear door was so high off the ground that the RV stairs would not reach. We had to add an extra platform under the stairs.

Our experience here was incredible! The campground was clean (pit toilets included) and easy to find. Our site was ready for our arrival and the camp host had our reservation displayed at the site which ensured there was no confusion about us being in the right spot!

Nice and clean. Raining when we were there so not a great experience. Campground seems geared for RV's rather than tents. I would stay here again.

Indian Trees is a great campground BUT the camp hosts Bryan and Wendy are extraordinary!! They keep it so clean, are so kind and so helpful. The stay was better because of them. My new favorite place to stay

Campground was very clean and quiet. Campground host is very friendly and welcoming. The pads are a little narrow for sitting out by the camper but we made it work. Will definitely stay here again.

This was hard to find, initially. Once we found it, it was easy to navigate. The sites were nice. We had a tent site, fire ring and table. Restrooms were vault toilets. There was very good tree cover here, so night sky visibility was limited , but we did have a bit of meteor shower viewing.

Gorgeous location! They clean the bathrooms with pine oil which makes the bathrooms here especially nice for camping!

We love Indian Trees campground. It’s so peaceful and so well maintained! The camp hosts are so friendly and, at the same time, let you be. Lost Trail Hot Springs is only a half mile away, so we get the privacy of Indian Trees and the outings to the pool (where we also get good cell service).

The history and location of this campground is very special. The scarred trees, important to the diet of American Indians traveling through the area years ago, are visual history as well as a lesson in biology. I have always enjoyed that this campground was rustic without "hook-ups". It is a good place for a quiet refuge, bird watching, hiking, and enjoying nature. However, it seems the generator generation is moving in, and at times the place is buzzing with engines and gasoline fumes. To me, that is disappointing and possibly will harm the nesting of birds, plant life, and drive away those who come for a release from the trappings of town life. I travel with solar panels and there is lots of sunshine here to keep your batteries charged!! The camp hosts and rangers have been friendly and I applaud their excellent work keeping this campground maintained and clean!

Nice quiet little CG.. mile dirt road from highway was fine...our site(#13) was nice pull through but not much of a view..no cell service if that matters to you...day trips to salmon idaho and bannack ghost town/state park were worthwhile.

Camp hoist keep the campground well maintain. Sites were clean and plenty of room in-between. This campground will be on my return plan for next year. Camp hoist was most helpful and full of information.

This campground is a hidden gem in the SW part of the state! Spacious private lots with nice level asphalt pads. The camp host was super nice and helpful about local attractions in the area. Easy access off highway. We will be back😃👍

Beautiful and peaceful campground with easy access for big campers. So glad they have some first come sites! We were able to extend our stay by moving to one of those sites. Host was very nice and helpful.

This is a small Campground compared to some others, but it is worth planning a night or two. It is surrounded by hiking/biking trails. Campsites are clean and easy to access. Our visit on 7/9/21 was a little smoke filled from local fires but still the favorite from our 9 day camping excursion through Montana and Idaho. The campground host was excellent, friendly and you can tell him and his wife love people. If you have the opportunity to stay and Indian Trees take it, you won't be sorry.

I love the Bitterroot Valley! The campground at Indian Trees was nicely shaded, clean, and quiet. The camps name has quite an interesting history and i enjoyed reading about it on the posted signs.

Beautiful and off the beaten path. Mosquitoes were bad at night, but ok during the day.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
