We fell in love with Bighorn Mountains over 20 years ago. Coming back to camp at Porcupine Campground was like a dream come true. It is so quiet and peaceful there. We hope to return again and again.

Beautiful campground. We stayed in site 8, which was a tent only walk in. The site was perfect, well kept, and the perfect place to spend the evening! Just keep your eye out for the squirrel that throws pinecones! Also don't expect any cell service(better that way in my opinion).

loved our one night in this perfect little campground. zero mosquitoes was a bonus!

Quiet clean campground with plenty of trees and close to many things to do. We stayed in site 8, a tent only site, and our only complaint was that there was no privacy from site 9, the other tent only site. Renting the two together would be preferable if you want privacy.

Our reservation at Porcupine Pine Campground was not correct due to a glitch on the website that I made in January. But our camphost, Pat, was amazing! He worked with us to get our reservation corrected and made our stay great! Amazing to work with!

Nice place host was very knowledgeable and courteous only one complaint there is no water for filling up your RV unless you go to the lodge and you will probably have to purchase something in order for them to give you water

Wonderful site, Easy access to bighorns and a quick drive to the Falls trailhead.

Great, quiet, off the beaten path campground. Campground (including pit toilets) was clean and host friendly. We stayed in site 2 which was fairly large. Sites 13-15 all have open view of meadow with sunset...will try for those on next visit, although at least one of them is first-come only. We hiked forest service roads nearby, drove to Medicine Wheel National Monument (definite must see) and hiked to see Porcupine Falls (the trail is a significant descent but worth it). Campground was full during our June 21-23 stay, which was encouraging to see. We showered and got an afternoon snack at WY High Country Lodge (minutes down USFS Road 13); friendly staff. I was a bit nervous that Alt Hwy 14 would not be open for our June travel (because of snow) but it was. We saw snow up at Medicine Wheel. Have also heard Five Springs Campground is beautiful. Definitely would return to area.

Pat the host was fantastic and knowledgeable about the area. Restrooms were well tended as well as trash removal. Great experience!!!

Spacious campground. Water was far. Close to Great Horned Owl, deer and cattle. Cold!

This small campground is in a great location to explore nearby Porcupine Falls, Bucking Mule Falls, Paradise Falls and Medicine Wheel. We were in campsite #15. Unless you want to put your tent up out in tall grass and weeds with uneven ground, look for the small flat area under the trees, just big enough for our 11x9 tent. Easy walk to vault toilet, which was not as clean as others we have stayed at.

Can't recommend this spot more. Right on Porcupine creek and only 5/6 miles from Porcupine falls (where you can swim right by the stunning waterfall). The campsites are so spacious and have beautiful surroundings. Two trash bins and two restrooms on either side of the campground. No service and no bear boxes. Will absolutely stay again.

Our reservation was not held by the campground host and other campers were in our site when we arrived. The campground host was nowhere to be found. Luckily we got assistance from the good folks at the Wyoming High Country Lodge who directed us to other camping options.

I don't know how Gallatin Canyon Campgrounds are securing contracts with the Forest Service, but if my experience with their outfit is any indication of how they are operating other campgrounds on the mountain, I can't imagine they should remained contracted for long. I have never been treated so poorly as a campground, by a camp-host no less, in all of my years camping both in the Big Horns and around the country. I highly recommend you take measures to address the non-sense going on by these sites operated by Gallatin Canyon Campgrounds, they are giving the Forest Service a bad name, and bad image.

Loved the camp hosts sense of humor and attention to detail. The campsite was so well situated and we loved our stay there!

We were camped at one of the sites that had a ‘low’ pull-in so that it was largely inundated during the heavy rainfalls of last week. Other sites were ‘built-up’ and not inundated. Otherwise, a beautiful campground and acceptable restroom and drinking water availability.

The host did a poor job keeping up with the reservations. Our group reserved spots 2,3,&4 to be together and someone was in spot 3 all three nights.
@JohnS6889697 · Camped on Sep 12, 2022 at Campsite #4
The host didn’t keep up with the reservations while we were there and one of our spots was taken all three nights
@JohnS6889697 · Camped on Sep 12, 2022 at Campsite #3
The host was non existent and didn’t keep up with the reservations. One of our spots that we reserved for 3 consecutive nights was occupied.

Great relatively out of the way campground! Clean restroom facilities, ample space to stretch out and enjoy the howls of the coyotes nearby. Note that trash must be hauled out, leave no trace.

High altitude, lots of shade, and Porcupine Creek runs next to it. Campground is very quite. What is not to like about Porcupine Campground.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
