We were the only ones in the whole campground. It was nice and quiet.

I loved this campsite very secluded and we definitely want to go back again next year. Its the perfect place to feel like youre in the middle of the woods. The guy in our circle bought out all the campsites around us so he could run his generator at night. He left everyday all day long so we had the circle to ourselves. Its pretty cheep so Im definitely always doing that. They have a fun ATV trail that we hiked and the perfect trees for hammocks.

It was very hot in Price, but this campground is high and cool. It was at the top of the pass from Price to Duchesne. The road coming in had a very steep place, where we needed four-wheel drive to get to it. It was quiet and had lots of trees. But the camp sites had minimal improvements and were not level. The spot we reserved, we didn't feel comfortable backing into it, as it was small with a steep hillside on one side. We ended up staying in a different spot.

The campground was clean and well labeled. Good amount of room between spots. The vault toilets were cleaner than expected and we’ll stocked. We love camping here!

This is a hidden gem and only about an hour from Spanish Fork Canyon. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. It’s located near the top of a ridge and over looks a beautiful forested valley. We went at the end of June and it was still a little chilly at night. Also, we saw a bear in the campground, so be sure to pack everything away.

Beautiful, secluded, and quiet. Pit toilets were fairly clean.

We loved the remoteness of the basic campground. It is a little difficult to get to on the narrow road but worth the effort. There were places on the road that I was glad we didn't meet another rig coming the other direction. Most of the way we were wondering if we were even on the right road. An additional sign or two would have been helpful. I did have to put the truck into 4-wheel drive to get up the hill in one area.

This campground has been my favorite in the world since 1954. It is a wonderful place to allow kids' imaginations run wild. Wildlife is abundant and the air is cool. VERY RELAXING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty area. Quiet. Bathrooms were not cleaned and gross. Found a mouse in one. Lot of flies and bees. Sites are good size. Spot for grill. Fire pit is higher then most, which helps from kids falling in but creates high fire. Lot of cow pie.

A really beautiful campground up in the mountains, relatively isolated from civilization, although I was able to hear the cars on the highway. There are cows EVERYWHERE, and they’re not shy about approaching your campsite. Saw some deer as well. At night, the sound of rustling leaves and crackling branches from the cows can be disarming because in the dark it’s hard to tell a black cow from a black bear. Did not see any sign of bears though. No water at this site and no cell service anywhere near the site. Overall, the campground was very empty and quiet and we didn’t see the host at all. It’s a one lane gravel road to get to the campsite. MAKE SURE YOU STOP AND TURN RIGHT WHEN YOU SEE THE SIGN FOR THE CAMPSITE. It is not clearly marked where you go, and I accidentally went several miles too far. If you drive more than 1.5 miles in from the main road, you’ve gone too far.

Stayed here at Avintaquin Campground site 4, area was okay we just had a slight slope but can’t complain when it’s a $5 site the upside to site 4 there’s two perfect trees for a hammock! So bring one if you have one this was a good trip over the weekend. It was a nice trip we didn’t do much but kick back and enjoy the outdoors it was very peaceful very spacious away from other campers (Covid-19 precautions) we managed to see a few deer and oddly enough they don’t spook easy it’s almost like we had a pet deer for the weekend. Oh and it was a very cheap price $5/night not bad! So be sure to bring your own WATER! Because there’s none in this location.

I have been going to Avintaquin for 66 years. Your imagination is the ONLY limit to the activities you can do there. We are on our fourth generation of family that starts planning our next trip to Avintaquin the day after we get home. Even the youngest great grandchild of my parents who started our love for the place in 1954 counts the days until they can go back next time. Avintaquin is "heaven on earth" for us.

Hidden gem! The sites sit on a plateau of sorts, with great mountain views. Trees are plentiful and offered plenty of shade. Wide variety of wildlife - within 25 ft of our camp we saw deer, cows (on the other side of the range fence), gophers, chipmunks, hummingbirds, and even a hawk. Bring plenty of water, as there is none at the campground. In early August, we had pleasant temps: high 70s/low 80s during the day, high 50s/low 60s at night. Good escape from the heat! A few loud neighbors - be courteous and control your volume, as it easily travels several sites outward. I'd highly recommend this campground! The only downside is the proximity to rangeland - cows are present. The fence is/was down as there were cow pies scattered throughout the entire campground. The only thing keeping this site from being five stars is this... I would have expected them to have been cleared to a degree as they aren't exactly subtle. You'll hear cows mooing (bellowing?) throughout the day, and perhaps see a few pass by if your campsite is near the range fence.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
