Big Coon Creek Campground in Sevier county is located 1 hr 25 min north of Texarkana, TX with an elevation of 567 feet. There are a total of 32 campsites. The campground is open all year. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 132 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. All sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $16.00 to $24.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, swim beach, picnic table, fish cleaning station, restroom, firewood, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

we visited Big Coon Creek during the eclipse, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The host were great, facilities were clean and checked regularly. Our campsite was very nice and spacious with a nice view of the sunrise. Kayaking on the lake was great.

Nice campground! Could see the lake from all the sites. The campground is on a hill, so the further from the water the site, the higher it is. This allowed us to see over the campers that were closer to the water.HOWEVER, the water hookups are far from the normal hook-up location on many campers. So bring at least 50' of hose - more would be better for many sites. I had to use my 50' hose, and lend my 25' hose to a friend, as his 50' was not enough to reach.Lots of birds singing in the campground, so that was nice. I would go back there if I was in the area.

Our site (#5) was nice and long, and there was plenty of space to park the boat.The view from this site is the playground, though you can sit outside and see the lake.

Tent camped in spot #9 and had a perfect stay! Clean bathrooms, good shady area and camp spot was close to the lake and swim beach. Will definitely return!

Loves our campsite. Park was clean. Beach needs sand, but I am sure they are waiting until after the flooding rains are over. We are going again and cannot wait!

Showers are horrible. You have to be hugging the wall to get a little wet. Seems like shower heads from ceiling would be great

Not enough water hydrants. Have to run lots of water line. Needed mowed. Nice park, will return but try to get site next to water so I can get east satellites for Dish.

The side #4 was a good site. The camp host and I talked about her dogs and mine. Even the people that work the trash detail waved and said hi. I will be back as soon as I have time.

Easy to get into and awesome views

Great end of the summer get together with some friends. Weather cooled down, water level was normal. Park was in great shape. Wasn’t very crowded for the weekend before Labor Day. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Rangers came by daily.

This is a very quiet park. Everything worked fine and the attendant was very helpful in showing us our spot and helping us get parked and hooked up. It was extremely hot the first 2 days so we stayed in but the last 2 days it was beautiful. There were many fishermen & many people boating.

Would be nice if boat ramps had boat docks. It makes it hard to get in and out from bank. I'm 65 and a dock would make it safer. Camp areas are great. Don't realy have problems with parking. We always have great time when we stay. Roads ways are needing some repair. But I still rate this lake at 10.

We had a great time. We had site #12. While Alitalia bit of a challenge to get our 38 foot 5th wheel in, was a very nice site. It was peaceful, had spectacular sunrises. We will be going back again.

Great small older park. Loaded with mature trees. Sites are mostly level. I only had to make minor adjustments to level my rig. Be sure to have extra fresh water hoses. I was barely able to reach the water faucet with my hose. Very hilly terrain. Very nice bath/shower facilities. They had the nicest fire pits that I've seen at a campground. The sites were spacious and not too close together. The sites are located on the lake. Very pretty. Also, no stores or shopping nearby.
