Camp is in worse shape I have ever seen it. Have been coming since I was18 now 70. Shore line grown up campsites look like the are never cleaned leaves everywhere fire pits never cleaned out.So sad to see this maybe the corp could hire someone to do these things would sure make a difference and miss having a gatekeeper gate shack was never open when I was around.

We had the very best time celebrating my husbands birthday in Site B21. It is a beautiful spot. Very roomy and comfortable. Great shade, and right on the water. Had 4 generations there on Friday night to have dinner and birthday cake. The whole weekend was wonderful. And, of course check in and check out was a breeze.

The host on duty, Frank, did an outstanding job getting me checked in and then came by the site later with some good information. The campground was very clean and well kept. I stayed on A2 and although it was perfect for me (15 ft), it is not level at all and a longer camper might have problems. All of the sites appeared to be large and not crowded together. I'm sure I will stay there again in the future!

We very much enjoyed Piney Bay. It was quiet and relaxing. We did have a problem with electricity (kept going off). We reported it and they had it fixed within a very timely manner. Would definitely recommend going to Piney Bay. I know Ill be going back.

Overall very nice park with beautiful lake access area. Nice level sites.

The ranger (temp host) personally greeted us on our first night. Very nice and assuring. We were close enough to the water we could just pop the kayaks in and paddle to the swim beach. The area is very clean and even in June the bugs were not bad. No bites and no need for the spray. A few candles done the trick. Over all a 100% satisfaction.

Great place but hard to level the van camper!

I do not recommend this location in the summer months as the bugs and high humidity were horrible! On the other hand, employees and check-in was great, very nice people indeed! Would go back and visit in the spring or fall

Terrible experience! Normally we love going to Piney Bay, but this trip was a total disaster! The grass was knee high, so high we were afraid to let our grandkids get off the pavement ! The fire pit was running over full . We ask for some one to clean it out when we got there. It was never cleaned out. Our Electricity keep throwing the breaker. We could not run one air conditioner and use our coffee maker at the same time, we had to switch the hot water heater to LP because of the breaker throwing. Not to mention trying to use the microwave when AC was running! We had to make a decision either Air Conditioner or an appliance! After we had been there for 5 days the Park Rangers cam down and promised they would have it fixed the next day. No one showed up the next day to fix it! We also had the Pavilion reserved for our annual family reunion. I went check out the pavilion the day before our reunion and it was a mess! I got ahold to the host and he said he would get the cleanup crew over there immediately and have it cleaned. We got there the next day for our reunion and it was still a mess. It had not been touched. So back to the host, who was still asleep at 10am on Memorial Day weekend. His name was Justin and he was pretty much useless. We found out he hadnt reported the breaker problem to maintenance, the fire pit to cleanup crew or the pavilion to cleanup crew. All in all it was a terrible trip!

Campsite was not cleandirt leaves etc. I have been coming here for over 40 years and this is the worst I have ever seen it. The fire pit looked like it had never been cleaned out. I do not know if they have personnel to do this upkeep anymore never seen anyone also no gatekeeper office has been open and I have camped there 3 times since March. Just a shame to see this park go down.
@GeorgeW7407057 · Camped on May 21, 2024 at Campsite #B14
Continually through the breaker, grass was knee high, fire pit was overflowing with ashes. Pavilion was nasty, it took several attempts to get it cleaned! Host was not concerned with any of these problems. His name was Justin.

The park is close to home and we enjoy going there for a little break. The park really needs some updating. All sites are 30 amp and some dont have water on site. There was some really overgrown areas that should also be cleaned up.

Had a good time the only thing that needed was the bathroom needs more cleaning
@JamesW5759385 · Camped on Apr 14, 2024 at Campsite #B28
Site B28 was a very good site except it has a tree branch that points directly towards the RV parking spot and is too low. All branches should be trimmed to a minimum height of 14 to reduce potential for damage to campers. During summer months many campers require 50amp service to maintain reasonable interior temperature. Particularly critical if pets remain in camper while owners are fishing!! I highly encourage the COE to consider upgrading park to 50amp electrical service at all sites. Otherwise the park was clean, well attended and enjoyable.

This park was beautiful, clean, and park attendant came out in the pouring rain to show us where our site was. We will be back for sure.

Campsites are big and roomy! Its nice and quiet the times we have been there. Its a great place to take nice walks or if you want to run or jog or ride bikes. You can sit by a nice fire and watch the sunset most days.

We loved camping at Piney Bay while we visited Russellville. The campsites were father apart than many many places and our dogs had space to stretch their legs. We carefully chose a campsite that worked with our trailer, and were able to step directly out our door to the raised picnic area as they were exactly the right height. We parked in the G loop in the woods, and it had light shade over most of the site and sun in front all day, so we could sit in either. At night it was extreamly quiet, even the first night when every campsite was occupied, and I think it was because the campground is so spread out. Rangers didn't mind well-behaved dogs being off leash, and they made regular passes through to check on the well being of things. We felt very safe

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
