This is one of the best spots there. Right on the water. Ok bathroom but a bit of a walk.

Beautiful site! Flat and easy for tent camping. Asphalt for parking a car or RV, and gravel for parking a car tent or other needs. The sites are large and tents fit very well! The water is beautiful. Bathrooms are very clean and well-lit.

Beautiful and well maintained. We stayed at Loop A site 11. No electric but water was close by. Great view of the water with easy access. Site is sloped but not badly. We were under a burn ban which was disappointing. We stayed three beautiful nights. Hickory Nut Mtn Vista is a must see. Plenty of hiking trails and walks to enjoy.

Our site specifically was on a tilt which made the tent a little wonky but the campground in general was nice. Bathrooms are top notch and heated. We will be absolutely be back albeit a different tent site.

Beautiful setting for enjoying the water. Clean facilities. It was a quiet campground. The cafe and marina close by was a bonus

The camp hosts and the people who take care of sanitation and bathhouse cleaning do a fantastic job. Great place to relax.

Park is always clean and well maintained. Hosts are friendly. Wish the park was opened the whole year.

Campgrounds are always clean. Had electricity issue and campground host got someone out to fix it as soon as possible. We always enjoy our stay at Thompkins Bend.

Stayed at site D66, it was a nice spot. The parking space was fairly level with close water and electricity hook ups. It had a good distance between it and other sites with plenty of shade. The campsite had a trail down to the lake, some people nearby tied their boat up by the shore and some kids waded in to swim. The site wasnt too far from the bathroom/showers. The bathrooms are not the nicest but everything worked well. The campground has a playground but it is not near any campsites. The campground host was kind and helpful at check in. Verizon didnt work very well- I was not able to FaceTime and had to resend some photo texts. This was my family's first time at Tompkins Bend campground and we had a wonderful time!

Beautiful area and nice campsite; however, nothing in the description says that this site is unlevel. As a matter of fact, it looks to be the ONLY site that is not level. Also be aware that if folks park their boats near your campsite, they will walk through to their boats. :/ Plus: its within walking distance of the showers/bathrooms.

My mother and her family grew up going to Tompkins Bend every summer and when we were growing up, we got to experience it as well. We had some WONDERFUL memories here and unfortunately when my grandparents passed away life got busy, and we stopped going. This was then added to our bucket list as our parents and aunt are getting up there in age now in their 70's and last year was the first time we've been back since the early 90's. There were some changes, but everything still felt the same, my boyfriend came with us and as we were driving those final few miles to Shangri La I started getting a little emotional those childhood feeling all coming back to me. The stay was beautiful, hotter than we wanted but had a crazy storm that blew in mid-week and it cooled it off nicely for the rest of the week. You can't beat that scenery, there's nothing like it!! One bummer is there was a water fountain we used when we were kids to brush our teeth, and it always made us laugh because after you pushed the button for the water to come on and the water went down the drain it would make this sad moaning/burping sound! haha! It's still there just not in use. Thank you for keeping this magical place so beautiful! We will be back this June, just going to come earlier! haha!!

Stayed 4 nights ,enjoyed so many things while being there . Did experience 1 problem = apparently I was on the end of 1 elec service so when others ran the 50 Amp my volts went below 108v my surge protector shut off power 2 prevent damage 2 the camper. When they left early sun ,there was no issues. I did let the people at the gate know when checking out. Pretty awesum trip.

Tompkins Bend use to be our favorite campsite for several years, but this year I'm having a change of heart.1. Nothing has been fixed in years! Same broken fence posts, same retaining walls falling a part, same run-down bathrooms, same deteriorating parking pads. 2. The boat ramp is absolutely beat to death! 3. No enforcement on campsite rules (number of campers, tents, and vehicles) has encouraged a great amount of.....riff raff showing up. It is in an absolute beautiful location, but its losing its glory quickly.

We had a great camping trip. This was our first time here and it was beautiful! Our site was facing the cove and the sunsets were beautiful.

Our favorite campground. We have been going there for 40 years.
@WilliamK482864 · Camped on May 10, 2024 at Campsite #63
The grass at our campsite was 18 tall, the asphalt pad had broken away and was very narrow. The landscaping timber used as a stop at the end of the trailer pad was completed rotten and had the bare exposed rebar sticking up about 8 that someone could easily trip or fall on. The park hosts were very friendly and the view from the campsite was beautiful.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
