The campground is very good with easy access to the state park, but the grounds are very close to the road. There is more [heavy] weekend traffic than I realized.

Wonderful location, lots of shade, nice large campsites. We have found many hiking trails in the area.

Clean, well-maintained and frequently monitored. Lots of space between pads. Just a few miles down the road from Golden Gate State Park for excellent hiking and fishing. The $8 reservation fee is a little steep for a $24 tent site.

Beautiful location & scenery that can't be beat! Only stayed a night, but will be back!

Lovely site hidden back in the woods. Very basic amenities - pit toilet, bear vault, water spigot - but serviceable for the night. Tent pad was a shade small for my tent (an ultralight that likes the guylines stretched out quite a ways), but worked fine. There was a short path up to a viewpoint right next to my site that I took advantage of in the morning. I believe I was there the last night available for the season and it was very quiet, which I enjoyed. Amazing views of the stars.

Our spot was a little unlevel, but great distance from other spots. Loved the trail right off the site. Has a water faucet available on loop road. Great nights stay even with rain.

Beautiful area of Colorado amongst the Aspens. Will be returning.

Campsite is a little difficult to back into with a trailer but we managed. It's a lovely site once you get set up. The Vista is a really easy, short walk with a lovely view.

Great campground on a beautiful stretch of road. There is a hiking path up to an incredible vista near the back tent pads. Only complaint was road noise as you are in a valley so the car noise from the highway bounces off all the foothills and mountains.

We loved our site outside of mother nature dumping tons of raining and lightning on us throughout the night. The camp host was a gem and we would easily return to this campground and campsite.I would like to see Colorado step it up with solar lights and hand sanitizer along with a deodorizer in the outhouses. We have use some in other states with all of these. Our wifi was full 5 bars and amazing as we navigated the craziness of trying to get park entrance to Rocky Mt for the next day.

Beautiful campground not too far from Denver. The drive up Golden Gate Canyon Road was crazy (we had a trailer). The rest of the time we took Hwy 160. Nice overlook from the campground. Cool temps at night when you are at 9200 ft! Not too far from Hidden Treasure Trailhead by Black Hawk - great hiking and mountain biking!

Great camp host, clean bathrooms, weirdly super fast cell connection
@apriln75615686 · Camped on Jul 9, 2023 at Campsite #19
Clean bathrooms and great view from the vista! Cell phone service is really spotty and the sites are a little too close together.
@DavidN9135851 · Camped on Jul 7, 2023 at Campsite #14
Really nice spot, you owe it to yourself to do the short vista hike. I’d ignore others reviews saying the sites are well spaced out, as they are fairly close together.

We stayed in site 15. It's a nice, wooded site with views of the mountains. However, it was very difficult to get my 26 ft travel trailer in it. The road goes downhill, and there is no room on the other side. I would not recommend putting an RV in that site.

Cold Springs remains a great campground close to the Denver metro area. And this year's campground host is the best in a number of years -- friendly, easygoing, and he keeps the toilet facilities the cleanest and freshest smelling they have ever been.
@DavidA3218244 · Camped on Jun 8, 2023 at Campsite #13
Camp here every year and as usual despite the weather this campground is a favorite. The camp host this year was very friendly and accommodating. He even delivered firewood to our site for us. Restrooms are kept very clean and stocked. Nice walking trail at the end of the campground and a trail up to a vista with fantastic views. Close to Blackhawk/Central City and other hiking trails. Only downfall is some traffic noise from the road near by during the day but if you get sites at the end of the campground it's much quieter. We had major rain on this trip and some of our camp pads flooded so my suggestion is maybe fill in the low areas of the pads. I was pleasantly surprised I had some cell service this trip as usually I don't.

We camped at Cold Springs on a cold and rainy weekend but we loved it. Most sites are large and have plenty of trees for shade. The pit toilets were clean. We did some fishing at the ponds of the near by state park.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
