Luna Lake Campground, Alpine, AZ

Luna Lake Campground is located in the Alpine Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests (4 hrs 7 min east of Apache Junction, AZ) with an elevation of 7,978 feet. There are a total of 32 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to the end of October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 27 and 192 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $20.00 to $125.00.

This campground is very peaceful because spaces are well-separated and have sufficient trees for shade and privacy. Nice lake views from some of them. We've stayed there four times, all different spaces, and it was somewhat difficult to level the trailer on each space because the area is hilly. Campgrounmd host is helpful but not intrusive. Good place to stay to see the elk, drive around to see the big horn sheep, and to enjoy the beauty of the White Mountains.

Camp host, Boyd, very nice and helpful. Grounds well kept. Trails are more like 4x4 roads but extensive. Some pull throughs are a bit tight for long trailers.

Unfortunately, our campsite was located next to an RV whose owner turned on his generator at 7 am and turned it off at 10 pm. As tent campers, we did not enjoy this experience.

Ron, the campground host was very helpful and pleasant. The campsite was found clean and ready to use. The restrooms were kept clean and supplied. We have been going to Luna Lake off and on for over 30 years and always have has a great experience there. My wife and I watched our two children grow up there and now they are sharing the experience with their children and families.

Luna is located in our favorite part of Arizona. The campground is convenient to the most beautiful Arizona high country that you'll find. It is well kept and the camp host, "R", was outstanding.

Campground is woodsy and quiet. Campsites are very clean, large and private. Ron, the host, is friendly and quickly had a solution when we needed a more-level campsite. Great place to escape the Phoenix heat!

A very relaxing week of camping. Spaces are spread out and the campground host was very helpful. However, some site need to be more level.

We stayed over July 4th. The campsite was very clean with some firewood on site. Bathroom was super clean and did not smell. Plenty of dumpsters for trash. We were very pleased and will be visiting again.

was unable to fish due to the algae. It also poured down rain. Left camp the next morning and went else where.
