Great campground , lots of shade, and very secluded!

Read the instructions! I have never been to a campground where you have to call ahead for a gate code. I arrived at 7pm, no one around, no parking, no cell service. The gate was locked and I had to drive and find an available campground. Praise the maker for Chilao campground, it was accessible and available. Much better than this lousy campground. And my request for refund was denied… Thanks for the lesson.

Great spot for our Scout Troop campout and we’d definitely go back! My only word of warning is that the after-hours noise restrictions were not enforced, at least on the weekend we were there, and the large group of college-age looking people in the adjacent group site partied until after 2am.

We arrived after dark and we’re never told you needed a code for a locked gate. We were stuck and it was late

Nice, clean, spacious and quiet campsites. Campsite #1 has very little space for tents

We rented site 2 so we could be in the center of the camp, and we were the only ones there! It was very nice to have the whole place to ourselves. The one big problem was the yellow jackets. This was at the end of October, and there were just swarms of them everywhere. Luckily, someone had left some traps behind that we refilled, and we also made our own (out of bacon and cardboard). We also highly recommend breakfast at Newcomb's Ranch before heading back down the hill.

I love this campground, although you can't fit that many rigs, and we wish it would be left to the equestrian's only!

Bandido is excellent for large groups with many cars. There is plenty of parking throughout the campground as well as the front. The smallest site can hold more than ten people with the largest site holding more than thirty. There is no running water so you'll have to bring your own but there are great hiking trails nearby and it's fairly isolated so it truly feels like being in nature despite only being an hour from civilization. I've camped there a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
