I have been camping here since I was a child. This place has always felt like home away from home. Its very quiet and peaceful at night, and over the last 45 years I have met some of the nicest fellow campers! The fishing here has always been amazing. The bathhouse is always clean and the entire campground has always been very well maintained. Staffords store just a short drive from there has just about everything you would need.

Take all supplies, nearest stores 40 minutes away. 0-1 bars with Verizon. Nice level pads, few campers, very quite. Great employees, helped me exchange my site, checked in with me later.

We had the best time at this campground. The Hosts Allen, and Kim were very friendly and hospitable and made us feellike we were family. We will definitely go back.

It is a beautiful park we had such a quiet nice space with a big deck the morning the mist coming off of the river was just beautiful. Our host Kim was the greatest,kind and helpful. We toured Cahaba the 1st capital of Alabama it's now a ghost town so interesting suggested to us by TheFarmersMarket in Orville.which has wonderful food

A delightful hidden gem. Needs a little work on the access road and the power posts. But beautiful sites along the river and hidden in the woods according to your desires. The staff is friendly and helpful, they made me feel a part of their family. I will definitely be coming back.

We came in late so we werent able to experience it during the full daylight. However, we did experience one of the most sunrises over the lake! Absolutely serene. Campground is larger than i originally expected, and the sites are pretty big too.

We love Chilatchee Creek it's one of our favorite places we have been camping here for years along with other family members and have made a lot of great memories there. The staff has always been attentive and kind checking you in and out at the gate house. The campground has been a great place for me and my family to camp and look forward to coming back. Please take care of Chilatchee Creek We love this place and want to come back.

We loved Chilatchee Creek campground. It was clean, quiet and very relaxing. The sites are spacious and most are very private. My 6 y/o loved the playground. We only wished they had hiking trails in the campground. There was a hunting trail and a closed area of the campground that we hiked around, but we really live to hike through trails in the forests! The camp hosts were great! Cant wait to return.

Great campsites . But the road not being paved the whole way is crazy.

The park needs to be better managed. It is a favorite of ours but seems to be overlooked when it comes to maintenance. What happened to not want to keep it up better?

Chilatchee Creek Campground is absolutely beautiful; from the Spanish moss in the trees to all the wildlife you get to see like alligators in the Alabama River. The roads and campsites are clean. There are nice little trails going down to piers at some campsites and even a playground for kids. I just wish the bathhouse would be updated, as the push for water shower does not run water very long (only 7 Mississippi seconds) and it take a few pushes before the water gets warm.

Very nice campground

The access road was in need of repairs. There were several areas that were washed out.
@JerryF6645567 · Camped on Feb 8, 2024 at Campsite #18
like everything but 1 mile of dirt road
@CharlotteCB546 · Camped on Jan 30, 2024 at Campsite #12
Great place to get away for peace and quiet time. Views of Spanish moss hanging down from the trees. And a water view with colors of pinks in the horizon reflecting on the water at sunset. The stars are visible because there are no lights to interfere. The only problem with this park is the road going down to the park is very rough. It is a dirt road for a short distance. But the paved road area is buckled up and would damage your vehicle in spots. We were scared we would meet another vehicle while we were avoiding bad areas in the road. It was worth driving 30 minutes to get diesel for the solitude.

This place is beautiful, but it is in the middle of nowhere. Give yourself enough time to get there. Power and water worked great. Super quiet with very few people there on a cold January night.
@KenD4490873 · Camped on Jan 15, 2024 at Campsite #17
There was only 3 campers in the park. It was very quiet. Getting to the campground there was a part of the road was dirt and rough..

Great time and site to spend with Mother Nature. Clean well kept. Telephone reception has greatly improved. Staff friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our visit to this park. It is really secluded and very quiet and peaceful. However the road into this park, in my opinion will be a deterrent for others to choose to come here. The logging industry tore the road up and no reparations have been made on this single lane road. Lots of wildlife in the park.
@DebraH5241180 · Camped on Nov 8, 2023 at Campsite #17
The road leading in was horrible - washboard conditions and only wide enough for one rig. Would have been interesting if we encountered another camper!! The campground itself is wonderful but the challenge to get there is something we will not do again!
@MarshaMFC6A4D8 · Camped on Nov 7, 2023 at Campsite #11
Great stay. Everything went good. I would love to see the growth between campsite and creek cut down to have a better view. I know they used to keep it cut.
@GeonheeCF1CAC2 · Camped on Nov 1, 2023 at Campsite #15
Highly recommend this camp ground. Nice camp host, very clean bathroom and shower, Everything 10/10. Few site has dock if you have boat or kayak very easy to access. And road is fine. Its country side so short dirt road and 2 potholes exit side road. It doesnt bother me.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
