All the sites had reserved tags but sat empty while other campers were turned away; I have seen this before. This reservation system DOES NOT WORK! Too many people make reservations & never show up. There should not be mandatory reservations after Labor Day for ANY campground.

My campsite firepit was in direct view, about 7 ft away, from the neighboring campsite firepit. Not too much of an issue, but had a large group of loud intoxicated early 20 somethings next to us. Bad luck I suppose.

Site 54B was way to small for a 20-ft trailer. The side had so much of a side slop that it was impossible to level the trailer side to side. This site is not suitable for a trailer. The trail up to the picnic table and firepit was so steep that it was not useable.

we didn't stay up there after the night of the grizzly story we backed out. and stayed at our grant villege campground site

Nice spot, nice lake

Lewis Lake was a much more private setting than other Yellowstone campgrounds. It was quiet, even with its proximity to the main road. A brief walk to the lake opened up beautiful views. We saw loons. Excellent visit.

Nice campground with well-maintained facilities by the lake. Convenient to nice locations in Yellowstone NP.

Super rustic but thats what we love about it. The rangers were great. We loved how it was super quiet without any campers!

Lewis lake campground is beautiful with lots of great sites. Unfortunately 50-b is not one of them. The site allows rvs/trailers/pickup campers but the parking area is on about a 20 degree angle so levelling a vehicle is next to impossible. There was also no tent pad or level spot for more than a 2 person tent. Finally, you can see highway 89 less than 100 from the campsite and it was quite noisy through the night.

All very nice, probably great for boating but a little far of the main yellowstone attractions.

Great sites at the lake. So nice not having generators running all day.

Site 3 at Lewis Lake Campground was great and very spacious! It was fairly private from the campsites around it, but could pair nicely with site 2 if you were looking for multiple campsites. It was nice to have some distance between the fire area and the tent pad, which was back further on the site. We didnt have any issues with mosquitos as noted in the other review except for when we walked down the trail behind the site to the lake (very cool!). Lewis Lake is on the south side of Yellowstone so driving to certain destinations will take some time but we liked its remoteness. Vault toilets were kept very clean as long as other visitors kept the toilet lids down.

Campground was in a perfect position for us to be able to stay within the park and be up early and right next to the next activities we wanted to see.

campsites have very little privacy... sites are stacked tight. Completely dark at night as there are no camp lights at the outhouse or campground

I loved this remote quiet lake! So many stars, away from the crowds. We had a walk in spot and I would stay there again in a blink.

Lewis Lake campground is a great spot for tent camping that is quieter than the lodge/village areas. It's a little further away from the main attractions of Yellowstone but is easy to get in and out of

I didnt get eaten by a bear

Sites were clean and well attend to. Outside of the mosquitos which have been bad in every mountain campground across Wyoming that we've stayed at this year, 2024, Lewis lake was awesome. Good fishing from the bank, warm mountain lake and lots of peace and quiet. You are farther from the Yellowstone tourist things but we liked that since we go to the park every year and have no need to 'see it all' in one day like people seem to try and do.

Good place to stay but very basic

Nice campsite. The lake ramp is just next to the ranger station. Met awesome employees of the park at night next to the lake and I was offered a drink.

Good campground. Pros, Beautiful and well located.Cons, a little cramped and buggy in early July.
@KristaC8226302 · Camped on Jul 15, 2024 at Campsite #22
Campground was lovely and every spot had its own bear box. My only compliant was that the one pit toilet for our loop was disgusting and appeared to not have been cleaned in a very long time. The staff was super helpful and friendly.
@KerryS8905277 · Camped on Jul 15, 2024 at Campsite #23
This place is FULL of mosquitoes. The campsites are cramped. The ground is full of tree roots. The toilets are pit toilets. It is not near many attractions.
@SuzySA4CD1866B · Camped on Jul 11, 2024 at Campsite #53
Everything was great! Clean, quiet, shady!! The only downside was the bathroom and mosquitos, both of which there is nothing you can do anything about. To fight the smell we wiped hand sanitizer under our nose prayed for a quick trip. Camp host was kind and kept things in order. Would recommend 100%

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
