This is the best campground I have ever camped in. Bathrooms were super clean. Todd, the camp host, was amazing and so helpful. It was peaceful, beautiful, with lots of privacy. Our group had the best time.From another camper with my group:Amazing campground. Bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen at a campground and Todd was an awesome camp host. The scenery is stunning, the drive into Carbondale is amazing, and the campsites are quite private and wooded. Redstone, a town of 92, is an easy 1mi walk from the campground and is so cool. Dogs got to play in the river near the campsite and had a blast. We also saw some bears (they didn't both us; we didn't bother them) in the campground! This might be my new favorite campsite!

Campground is beautiful! Bathrooms clean. Host site looks like a homeless encampment . We had reservations for 4 nights, first 3 were perfect. We have a camper van and leave for they day to explore. Upon return on our final night , our site was occupied. Camp host said we abandoned our site (left a rug and shoes) that they had in lost and found. We clearly had a reservation but did not make the occupants leave our site. Host lied and said we were never there the previous nights. They never came around to check our senior pass . Said abandoned sites are a problem. So are they pocketing the fee from the non-reserved guests.

Clean and quiet which is expected. Strangely though we never saw the camp host! Usually they do their rounds, meet the campers, etc. at this campground none of our group of 20 spread over 6 sites ever saw the hosts.

Awesome campground with beautiful surroundings. Close enough to aspen and some beautiful off road trails. Having water and electric hookups was a huge added bonus.

The Campground hosts did not clean out the fire pits, and while we were there did not come to check out our senior pass. The water system in our campground had to be turned off for a time, to get the supply tested, because there was an unpleasant smell to the water. It didn't last too long but I was surprised that they recommended that we fill out fresh water with the same water before it was turned off.

Love this campground but this trip was not that great because of the camp hosts The hosts had dogs that barked every time a person or dog walk by. They let the dogs run loose and we were scared walking our dogs on leash. a number of times they were on duty but not present...truck gone. Campers were coming to us for direction and advice since we were the closest site. Never said hello or even acknowledged us. Their campsite looked like a homeless encampment. We were did not feel safe or welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campground. Site 17 was spacious and private. Access to the river is just a short walk from the Osgood Loop. Pros: 30amp and water hook up, views, friendly camp hosts, proximity to the town of Redstone. Cons: a little road noise during the day and no dump station on site.

The host was a con artist, be aware. I booked a double site (23 & 24). My reservation said site 23 and it also said it was a double site. However, because the reservation didn't specifically list site 24 (it only said site 23 and that it was a double) he said we didn't book it. However he did offer to hold it for us for an extra $20. We didn't want to pay double (again) so we ended up telling our friends not to come and he ended up making us move to one side of the site and renting out the second half of the double site. We have small children and luckily the people who ended up sharing the site with us were nice, but what a terrible experience.

Great campground to stay at. Sites are spacious and private. Being in the canyon keeps things cool. Camp host was very friendly

The pros far outweigh the cons of this campground. If you are out to unplug, this is the place. There is currently no internet. If they get access out there it would be a plus for many reasons. A plus is the restrooms offer flush toilets. We didnt try the solar shower so we cant comment on that. The campground staff was friendly and kept the area clean. Hope to return.

We camped just one night in May, 2024, on our way to Utah. This is a very quiet campground. Dirt road through the campground, and dirt sites. We were too early in the season to hook up to water, but electricity was available. Level sites. Had to walk quite a ways to the bathroom, as the closest one (with showers) was closed for maintenance. A quiet 45 minute walk to the heart of the small town of Redstone, on a quiet road that paralleled highway 113. The coke ovens, just opposite Redstone are well worth visiting! This is a very popular campground, but off season, spring or late fall, it is a quiet place to stay in a beautiful canyon.

The red cliffs were beautiful, the campsites were clean & private.
@LindaH1671742 · Camped on Sep 19, 2023 at Campsite #8
Beautiful scenery in the local area. Campground was nice because site #8 was level, private, and had water/electric hookups. Also, flush toilets and showers available there. Only real complaint is the lack of any dump stations in the vicinity. Wish they would provide one for paying customers since the camp host obviously has a sewer connection. Otherwise, its a bit expensive unless you have the senior discount pass.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
