This is my favorite campground and my favorite group site. I can understand some people not liking it. But it is at a good price point for what it gives. The tent spots are close to the bathroom but not too close. So if you have small kids or a tiny bladder, its pretty wonderful. The bathrooms have running water.It does have an open area which can get hot, but its a pretty nice field to play in. Probably my favorite field during the evening and morning when not hot. Or you have plenty of room for tents there if you really want to set them up there.Its nice, its easy, Group C is nice and by the bathrooms, but didn't like their field as much, and it is most expensive. Group A probably has a nicer area, but is far from the bathrooms. I think its niceties don't overcome being far away from bathroom, because B is still pretty good.

Loved this campground hidden away among the trees an hour from Las Vegas. Will return some day. Friendly campground hosts.

Barely any room for a tent at this site, certainly not enough room for a family to camp. Other than that, the creek was nice, fire pit was great, and lots of shade

Stevie and Scott keep that place so lovely and smooth-running and safe. They are always so helpful and knowledgeable. The campgrounds have upgraded fire pits that I love. The trails through the camp ground are so fun to walk through. It's such a lovely shaded place to camp that still has cell phone reception and internet. I recommend climbing up the ravine (east part of camp) to the field up above to check out the stars at night.

Bathrooms were well maintained. We stayed in Group Site B. I wouldnt recommend it. It had a very large, deep open space by the parking lot that was very hot in the morning and midday. The space was pleasant and shady in the afternoon and evening. The best place for tents was in the trees far back from the parking area away from where the tent trailers were in the parking lot. It all felt really disjointed. The tables were lined up in a not very use-able way. Maybe if we could have driven in the open area with our trailers/tent trailers it would be been more functional? (There were large boulders there to prevent that). Group site A is better. There was a lot of traffic past group sites A and B. Group sites C and D were a lot nicer and more private.

Stayed in site 7. DO NOT STAY IN THIS SITE. You basically share one camp area with another site so unless you know the people in site 9, choose another spot. Most of the other spaces in the campground are much more secluded.Also be aware that there is a TON of cottonwood debris, like an "it snowed" amount, so watch out if that will cause you any allergy issues.Thid does also mean there's a lot of little sticks around for campfires that kids could collect. I know I loved doing that when I was younger.Flush toilets were very clean. Look above the door to see which one is men's or women's. They are NOT handicap accessible. They are lit all through the night. There was a sink with running water but no hand soap in the bathroom, so bring your own. There is a separate pump of potable water outside the bathrooms. Camp host was incredibly nice and tolerant of my crazy dogs. She sells firewood for $10/bundle if you have a wood emergency.Several nice day use only areas open 6am-10pm

We had a very nice overnight stay. The sites were closer than we like, but that is mostly our problem. Nicely kept campground with friendly hosts.Thanks!

The camp hosts were great. The spot was a little smaller than anticipated, but worked out great for us.

We stayed in the group A site with a bunch of families and 15 kids ages 2-10. Tons of shade, picnic tables, and seating around the fire pit. The kids had a blast playing in the creek. Its not too deep, and it runs fast enough to not be gross or slippery. Theres lots of grass in that site, so the kids had plenty of places to play. We had our own water spigot. There is a bathroom in between the 4 group sites. It has flushing toilets, and was regularly cleaned by the hosts.

Great campsite. Close to civilization but feels remote. Love the shade and cute creek. Camp Host was very friendly as well

Large spot. Very wet behind it and by the firepit. Convenient to be near the flush bathroom and water spigot, especially since we had little kids with us. Friendly camp hosts. We went end of June and the poppies were still in bloom, very beautiful. We enjoyed the hike at the back of the poppy field.

Beautiful! The campground is very private and didn't have any trouble with bugs or noise. Loved our stay.
@ClaudiaLE124CE · Camped on Jun 24, 2023 at Campsite #4
The site we got was big enough for 2 tents if wanted had a great spot near a tiny creek where the kids played and set up their hammock. Site came with a picnic table and a fire pit. Plenty of good shade around so we did not feel the heat at all & it was very private. We loved that the site had actual flushable toilets.

The campground and restrooms were very clean and well maintained. Quiet shady campground near town. Full cell phone service. Great access point for Mantua reservoir and Willard Peak road. The campground hosts were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Nice little campground with spacious sites. Stayed one night while traveling. Will use again.

Excellent camp site! Will definitely come again. The sites in the 20s we had the bridge to the bathroom was washed out. Hopefully that will get fixed soon.

Very nice and well kept. It was mostly secluded and quiet. This was a group site and there was more than plenty of table and seating spaces for our group of 30.

I am an avid camper and although I very familiar with the area I had never camped at Box Elder Campground before. I was happy to realize the toilets were of the flushing variety! The bathroom is centrally located and was very clean and well stocked, even with a full campground. We happened to be camped right across from it and the spigot which was very convenient. Our spot had decent coverage between our site and the 'neighbors'. However the front was quite open. The site had a nice large picnic table and a maintained fire pit. It had plenty of space for our tent and for playing around. It was shady most of the day which made a huge difference since it was close to 100* during most of our stay. We will definitely stay here again.

Reservation was easy, and check in was even easier. The camphosts came by to tell us where the bathrooms were and answered all of our questions. The campground was really nice, secluded, and we had no complaints!
@SarahT3094084 · Camped on Aug 13, 2022 at Campsite #24
Loved how woodsy the area is and the host is absolutely great! Just didn't like how close to the frequently driven dirt road the campsites are. It's like you pull in to your parking spot open your door and your firepit is right there! But I did love how spaced out the sites are from each other and Manuta reservoir is a lovely short drive, less than 5 minutes, with a sandy/rocky beach that is great for the kids. Just a wonderful place!

Foliage is gorgeous, our campground was right next to a small creek. Was very peaceful, rangers were helpful, the toilets flush....will definitely look forward to next year!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
