We love Soapstone. It is where we go the most. It is quiet, has lots of trees, and walking around the campground is relaxing. Its a good spot from which to start day hikes and picnics. Well be going again soon!

This was a great spot! The site was fairly big with a fire pit and bench. We were only about 25 yards from the river which was a bonus. The site fit a 17 foot camper and truck, but it was tight lengthwise! I don't think anything bigger would have fit. The grounds were kept up and the bathroom was clean. This was a beautiful spot to stay!

Campsite was a mess when we arrived. Bathroom was dirty, smelled horrible and not stocked. Camp host no where to be found. Biting flies were out like crazy. Couldn't walk outside without getting attacked. The river was nice and only a short walk from the campsites. That was the only good thing. Will never book here again.

Despite verifying the driveway access to this campsite on the maps, it is blockaded. You cannot drive past site #10. So we had to carry our camp gear, which is substantial, 100 yards to the camp site #9. It should be discounted for this reason. But it is not. Overall the camp site is nice, especially in the evening. The morning and midday sun bombards the picnic tables and anything there. You have to move your coolers to the shade ad find a different place to cook. I got sunburned cooking pancakes, not really but easily could have without preparation. It's a quiet site, and you can follow game trails to nearby streams.

Beautiful campground. Our site (24) had a little branch of the river right behind it, which was perfect for my kids to explore. The site was very spacious and far from neighbors. Be aware, however, that the paved part is really short. We struggled fitting an 18ft. trailer and our truck into the space. A few other sites are much larger, but I saw several where only a small tent trailer would fit along with a car. That being said, now that we know which sites we could fit in, we will definitely be back!

Very spacious campsite with great views! Good distance from neighbors!

Terrible spots. Said it could accommodate us but there was no way. The spaces were opposite the direction of the road, so there was no easy way to back in either. We ended up having to go find somewhere else to camp because of they layout. Have a good look on google maps before you go.

Nice, quiet, clean campground. Plenty of shade. As advertised.

Great proximity to Provo Falls, Mirror Lake and many beautiful hikes but the vault toilets were horrible (even for vault toilets) and the dumpsters were so full we couldnt get our garbage in. May have been due to the fact we camped over a holiday weekend.

Camp hosts were amazing! Everything was clean and perfect!

Loved our spot. Not a lot of shade but the driveway was long enough for our small 12 trailer. Lots of room to place extra tents and screens. You can walk to the river from this spot. Saw couple moose on our last day going through the campground. Would definitely go back to this one.

This specific site is walk in only. Reservation doesn't mention this. You'll have to carry all your gear to the site. Campground is nice though.

The sites were spread out and separated.

My particular campsite was quite small and narrow. I don’t see how more than 2 tents can fit, so the 3 gigantic parking spaces associated with the site were a bit of a waste. The site is also super close to one of its neighbors, so be prepared to take in some of your neighbors’ kids as they play behind what they reasonably think is their site. The bugs in July ‘23 were really intense, but I understand from some locals that this has been an extreme year for that. The site is also quite close to the campground road, so don’t choose if you’re a light sleeper. All that said, this area of alpine meadows and forests is truly gorgeous. Highly recommend the drive up to Mirror Lake — well-maintained but dramatic vistas. Overall, I enjoyed my visit.

Beautiful and quiet. The only problem was being so close to the outhouse and the smell from that. Close to Trial Lake where we were able to catch a lot of fish. Overall, it was great!

Soapstone has been a favorite destination for years now. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive from the Salt Lake valley. Sites are spacious and private. I could not see or hear the people in the spot next to us. We camped Sunday into Monday so the campground was not full and was very quiet. Camp host was very helpful.

It wasn’t busy and the camp spots are further away than most in the area.

Our family reunion this year at Soapstone Campground in mid August was incredible. This marked our 20th campout since 1993. Over the years it has morphed from 2 to 3 days to just 7 hours this year. As our children and then grandchildren have grown it has become difficult to schedule a good time for everyone. So this year we got everyone together about the same time with our traditional Mountain Breakfast. Then the guys took off for 4 hours catching and releasing fish all up and down the Provo River. The rest of us hung out on the banks of the river, enjoying the sounds, wildflowers, and butterflies that we always look forward to. We took lots of photos. Then we returned to camp and prepared our traditional Hoagie sandwich lunch. The guys returned hungry with lots of funny fishing tales. We had prepared a photo album containing five or six photos from each of the previous campouts, and as it was passed around, we shared memories that we had not heard before from each othr. Then we packed up, gave hugs all around, talked about next year, and drove off in our separate directions.

No camp host to control late night music, dogs off leash everywhere. But the sites were clean and restrooms decent for pit toilets. No water available. One faucet would be nice. But that is the main reason won’t be back here.
@PaulR7699704 · Camped on Aug 8, 2022 at Campsite #20
Nice campground with paved road and spurs. Some tight turns for trailers longer than 26 feet. Some spurs require you to enter the loop backward in order to get your trailer backed in. Would be nice if there was water available in the future. Overall we will be coming back in the future.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
